Thanks for the info from those that have used the cheapo ones from HTG. I've always been curious, but I have only used Galaxy and Lumatek ballasts.

check out the "grow lights' section at htgsupply. The Lumatek is a good ballast. I've never tried their "digital greenhouse" ballast, but I'd imagine it's the same thing.
