My build is in my avatar pic. Four QB120s spread out over a 31"x31" canopy. I have no uniformity complaints. I'm still waiting for examples of unbiased 550 owners who believe it's a 600w HPS replacement.

See, this is what I'm talking about. I haven't spent any money on a 550. I don't use or own a 550. I don't care about the 550. But you seem to care a great deal!

He does seem to be overly fixated on the 550.

Right on. I love my QBs, and I think HLG is awesome, but I really think they need to update their fixtures to spread those boards out more. Same goes for Timber.

In what way do you mean? Are you referring to the frame? It's my understanding that Timber is using HLG boards in these fixtures... As for this particular unit - it definitely looks nice, but I wonder why they didn't spread the boards out a little more. I'm not seeing anything about this unit...

In that size space, 60 watts of QB is more than enough. I wouldn't even run it at full power.

As long as you're not trying to flower in too large an area, you'll be fine. What are the dimensions of the grow space?

Is the top level beefing up more than the bottom, or does the angle of the pics just make it look that way? Either way, it looks like things are going well!

Do you expect your space constraints to continue indefinitely, or do you have plans for expansion in the future? Like maybe a small mom/veg tent?

So many interesting techniques for cloning... I chop them, dip them in fresh aloe goop, stick them in root plugs (I use Root Riots), put them in any kind of container that will serve as a dome (I use those premixed salad containers), keep them and their environment moist, and wait. I'd estimate...

I'd put Fluence well over Platinum. Edit: though many would probably take issue with referring to Fluence as "blurple".

Plenty of people buy pre-built, and they aren't dumb for it. Not everyone is comfortable with DIY, and that's okay. If someone wants to spend the money, it's their money to spend. In fact, commercial grow ops pretty much have to buy pre-built, due to certification requirements.

I may have missed something, but is anyone actually suggesting that buying a Platinum in 2018 is a good move? Or is this just an argument about whether they were ever worth buying?
