Assuming the pictures in the original post are of the setup, how is it a "head to head" test when the plants are sharing the light from both the COBs and boards? Also, wouldnt the overheads be less efficient because they are further away from the majority of the plant as compared to the side...

When I say "automated watering", I mean having a water line hooked up to your rez and you dont have to be there for it to water. Something that can maintain a topped off rez daily while maintaining set parameters for PH, temp, tds etc. For this, arduino is the only route to go it would seem.

Yes and ironically I am doing the same thing right now. But mine is completely sealed with a bunch of stuff in the freezer portion to control it. Humidity is my biggest enemy right now.
