If you consider yourself a handy person you can build the light yourself fairly easy. You would have to spend $2000 on a panel that would equal what you could build yourself

I would buy a t5 from the grow store. However that is not a light issue. That looks like a nitrogen issue.

A better light or more light in MOST cases equals better results. However T5 is fluorescent lighting. What bulb are you using?

Normally I wouldn't use a heat mat either unless the temps were freezin. Mid to upper 60's is a good res temp.

The new growth looks good on both of them, if you had a problem it is gone now. What soil or mix are you using, I doubt it was hot soil cause it recovered pretty quick. Did you feed them by chance?

What is the PH of the reservoir?
