Just inherited a house with a good sized attic!

The house is very old and has no chimney. The attic temperature is very cold always (due to the fact that the AC leaks into it heavily) so that may help. As far as venting through the bathroom's exhaust? The house is so cheaply built that the bathroom exhaust goes directly into the attic via a...

warm, soft white, bright white, daylight...

Sorry for the delay, my preference is the GE 26w CFLs that are in a green box. They say 2700k in the bottom right hand corner VERY small. You say you're using 100w CFL but is this the actual wattage or the incandescent equals? (Example, it will say something like 26w = 100w). The only number you...

Just inherited a house with a good sized attic!

Also, the light at my newly obtained "grow house" will be a 400w in a 4x4x8 (lwh) room. If I can exhaust/intake this cheaply and you have ideas, please let me know.

Just inherited a house with a good sized attic!

Haha, I guess I'm extra lucky. There is no snow in my area and the attic is already heavily insulated. I can't exhaust into my house because I lack the money for coolin/ozone management. The attic doesn't have an actual exhaust system, its just a panel with gaps. Any other advice? +rep to you all :)

Just inherited a house with a good sized attic!

The attic is ver cool and has a very high exhaust vent. Luckily the people who designed it used very thin sheetrock for the roof (with large gaps between studs). So, RIU, what do you think? Bathroom exhaust fan with a carbon filter at the top of my growroom is enough? If you had an easy access...

warm, soft white, bright white, daylight...

Soft white lights are generally 2700k which is the spectrum you want. Look VERY closely on the box, usually somewhere reallllly small it'll say 2700k. If you're attempting to buy the CFLs at wal mart, let me know and I'll be specific as to what kind to buy.

    CFM's & Carbon Filters

I'm not sure what you mean.. so.. A carbon filter is meant to filter the smell from flowering. Lets say you have a fan with are flow like this [ ]~. The ~ is the side the air is blown OUT of (the side you'd sit on to feel the air.) You would put the filter (which is labeled *) like this: *[ ]~...

    help quick.

Pic would be nice. If you're using cfls, try to get a cfl (even a small wattage one) to the sides of it so it doesn't need to stretch so much to get light.

Obama addresses the LEGALIZE question today!!

Honestly, I just think it is because of the problems it proposes upon the economy (negative possibilites). Think of it this way. A VERY large population of the United States smokes marijuana (obviously behind closed doors). These people pay a large amount of money for marijuana because it is...

    Miracle Gro(wers) - a ? for you

I understand why you would use the organic vs. the normal MG potting soil due to the nutrients, BUT, do you add perlite since it does not contain any? Or is there some sort of aeration/absorption organic content to replace this?

are carbon filters only for intake

the point of a carbon filter is to remove smell. Why would you put a carbon filter in your intake.. so your plants wont smell your farts? [edit] Ah! sorry, misread that. I see you're still using it in your system exhaust, just putting it on the intake or "sucking" side of the EXHAUST fan :eyesmoke:

    watering?????

Catch rain water, I have 1 gallon jugs (about 20 of them) and I just fill them up when it rains. PH is always 6.5 and you can't beat mother nature. As far as tap water goes, just let it sit out overnight to evaporate the chlorine. Trying to boil it will just be a pain in the ass and the output...

    Fluoro tubes vs. CFL box

Awesome thank you for your help :) I couldn't decide and it was affecting my plants environment. For the flowering room, How can I utilize 2700k cfls? I can't afford an HPS at the moment, but I've got many 42w 2700k's... This is the problem I'll run into in the future.

    Fluoro tubes vs CFL

I've recently been able to build a seperate room for growing so I no longer need to be confined to my rubbermaid setup... unless it'd be better. Which should I use? Veg mylar room - (4) 40w Fluoro 4 footers or Rubbermaid CFL & mylar - (6) 26w 6500k, (2) 42w 2700k
