What are your plans for lighting once it's out of the seedling stage? From that distance I doubt the lava lamp is doing anything for the plant. Why don't you get yourself some CFL's ? They're inexpensive and will do the job just fine.

At that stage of growth it should only take a day to a day and a half for the seedling to point to the heavens and open her legs. If nothing happens by then I'm afraid she's probably not going to make it. But don't toss it, give it time... Agreed. I planted some bag seed up at the family cabin...

if you just flushed them can't you measure the PH of the water that comes out the bottom of the pot? The difference in PH from the water you put in and the water that comes out could tell you if there is a problem in the soil indicating a flush could be needed. I would wait a day or two after...
