i just go by feel i start at 50 %(some go 25%)and over a period of a month gradually build to full strength. and then you go from there if they burn flush and back off a little..:-)

what about a food dehydrator to fast dry the bud. not an optimal way but it should be ok. you can then put it in jars to cure and take them with you. the buds may not taste quite as good but at least you save them and they dont go moldy. any way just a thought...:-)
