Umm, not true...I use a mixed spectrum...I use a ratio of 3 to 1 in all my rooms...I have 6-2,000w dual spectrum Raptors (1 side is a MH and the other is an HPS) and it works fine and I think my plants like it better than just "one" spectrum...they grow at an alarming rate, I can go from bean...
