I got the hoods cuz I figured I could line them up directly under it,(like 2 inches above them) and use the CFLs for the sides.(which is how I have it now) The 2 hoods together (4 bulbs) put out 12,000 lumens @ 53 watts a bulb...cheap..I will add more CFLs as I go, to sides, and will heed ur...
