Here is my led grow... using htgsupply 240w 7 band knockoff of the blackstar and 4 26w cfl's started 6 seeds to get 3 females...but ended up having all 6 female... it is cramped for space in there...

I would say no, its not worth it because I like building stuff and could make 2k go much further.

I am in the same position as you... i am also in a basement... When i had the foothills filter... you could smell my plants even when they were just vegging... when I only had the 1 6inch fan and growbright jr filter... it killed the smell in veg, but once flowering kicked in, you could smell...

Happy New Year All! Put the new water in two days ago, and the ppm seems to be holding steady as of now and the ph dropped to 4.5. added some ph up to get them to 6.5 as it will probably drop again. My clone has gotten huge... a lot of branching going on.

That setup will do a much better job, but if ur worried about noise, you should get a speed controller as well. It is also a question of how much smell you can get away with.... You will need to spend real money to get 100% control. But if you can vent out a window using that filter... U should...

don't waste the money on that filter... it is way louder then it should be and doesnt get the job done.... spend the extra $30 and get a real one...

Although I haven't put it in the actual grow space.... it says right on the label... "safe to use around people, pets, and plants". If i had to put it inside the grow space.. i would. but i don't know if i would use it without a filter as well..

unless you spend alot of time researching... u will probably end up buying stuff that doesnt work or u don't need... if you want 100% smell control and great results... all in all i have spent probably $800 on my first real setup....(I will probably brake even on the first time around...

when i set my filter up, i went cheap... htgsupply 6inch fan and growbright filter...it DID NOT remove 100% of smell (maybe 75%). And i am venting it back into the room the closet is in too. As I can't get away with any smell at all... I had to do this... 1) get another filter.... have one...

So the ppm has been between 1650 and 1700 for the last few days, and the ph has stayed between 6.0 and 6.5. I'm pretty happy how the rez has stayed so far this water change. Next water change (probably tomorrow) I plan on using... R/O Water ppm = 0, enough cal mag plus to get to 100ppm then...

i run a 6" fan with speed control just into the m setting... one growbright jr filter inside 25 ft of flex tubing to other side of room fan hooked up broken down foothill filter (took out small pc case fan and attached it to the air outlet of the fan) Then I got my C.A.P. ozn JR running...

I am using cheap air stones... However, the ph is lowering and then i have to raise it. but probably the same issue. in the last 24hr... my ph hasnt moved at all... check out the link in my sig for the last week of ppm and ph...

What is your ph doing? I was having issues like that when i wasnt checking ph enough. Check ph twice a day and watch for ph changes. My rez would be ph 4.5... then I would adjust the ph to 6... then 24 hr later it would be back to 4.5. So I'm sure I was getting a decent amount of lockout...

UPDATE TIME... Since getting a tds meter and changing the water last week... currently using tap water that sits for a few days with bubbles going in it... ppm starts at 104. (Have a RO system coming) Days since water change... Measurements are taken before making adjustments to ph. Day1...

forget the leds u r using, they will barly veg... buy a pack of soft white cfl's (26w, aka 100watt equivelent) for $4, one drop light for another $5ish, and 5 two way spliters probably another $8... make one big light out of it all and hang above the plant...maybe make some kind of reflective...

i bet HE is a SHE.... from "upload 3" that preflower looks very female to me... But yeah...get ur nutes figured out.... I am not a soil grower... but i use FLORA NOVA in hydro.... my cousin uses it in soil... u should still be using the "grow" fert though... (will have much more N). However...
