    Warning Something's not right here!

Yup same here, I just tried to make same post! My AVG anti-virus just blocked a threat as well so something may be up. Google doesn't want me to visit forum as well.

How long is the Hydrofarm 8" cool tube?

Hydrofarm replied and said the cool tubes are 22" long unpackaged out of the box. So 3 stacked should be 5' 6" total height, in case anyone who's looking at vertical cool tubes. The Hydrofarm's one of the shorter cool tubes. Some are 27" or more.

How long is the Hydrofarm 8" cool tube?

How long is the Hydrofarm 8" cool tube? I ask this because some sites state it's 19" total length and other sites state it's 24". Anyone have one to verify which is right? I'd like to know especially for mounting 3 of them stacked vertically. If they were 19" I could fit 3 in a 8' ceiling with...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

Well this grower has used all kinds of nutes (Canna, GH, Botanicare, House and Garden, Technaflora, and Humboldt) and likes Dyna-Gro: Incredible Results: Dyna Gro recipe Don't know who to believe other than trying them out myself. I don't think anyone is going to change tree king's mind about...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

Thanks for the heads up tree king. Speaking of meters, I'm also looking at the Apogee Quantum SQ light sensor (PAR) Not sure which one to get. PAR meters can get really expensive too. These are highly recommended by aquarium hobbyists. It reads PAR, which is what the plants actually use (in...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

I like icmag and gc, but still post here mostly lately. Also, ppm can be misleading as it's open to a lot of different interpretation. Heard it's better to state EC as that's what meters typically read out 1st beforte converting. Link w/good info: What is the difference between ppm and EC...

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

I've come across at least a few dozen experienced growers through RIU, GC and a bunch of other forums. They all have their preferences for nutes. But many are using GH/Lucas formula and Dyna-Gro w/excellent results using the KISS approach, including Advanced Nutrients. I can say I've learned...

Testing Beneficial Bacteria in Ebb and Flow (AK47 with Great White)

I'd assume homebrewer isn't using Great White anymore just as I'm not using anymore mykos in my hydro res. Notice I said assume! ;)

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

Yup, I have a 12 plant limit and going for trees too in rdwc. Even add a top drip later for redundancy and to get clones/seeds going in the buckets sooner. Guess it's only a + if you need even less nutes. The low profile containers or "growth modules" in those Under Current Pro systems are 35...

YES! Heath Robinson, Fabman, Dr. Bud Greengenes, Doubleds, Krusty, Krunchbubble and many more... ;) I wonder what nutes those guys are using?

after trying dyna gro im switching back to advanced nutrients 2 part

I agree 100%, when used in the right manner. To really get definitive results, you'd have to do a side by side w/at least 3-5 grows in identical setups. Being that's the case and Dyna-Gro is cheaper with less bottles to mess with + at least more than satisfactory results for most that's my pick...

To Turn or Not 2 turn, when and how ? Strain/stretch advanced perverted training

Plants don't "turn" in nature, at least not the north side (in northern hemisphere)! That side of the plant is also just about as good harvested. With the proper lighting indoors (50-100 watts/sf) the same should apply. Now having the light reflect back around the perimeter in a vertical grow...

Myth busters - the real truth on CO2 in indoor grows

Ohhh I'm gettin' bad! I'll make it up to RanTyr with this? Sorry I had to post this as I just came across this right after posting. LOL sorry RanTyr it's all in good fun. ;)

Myth busters - the real truth on CO2 in indoor grows

BAM! I think this poster just shot him/her self in the foot - right off the bat. How's that a myth? Anyway, I've been reading this thread and I have to say SUPER desertrat! OOH-OOH-OOOOH (in Horshack voice), I'm raising my hand! On the CO2 growth chart (from Hydrofarm no less) it may...

best brand 1000w HPS, also what size cooltube?

I chose 600 watters and 8" cool tubes. As with others who have 8", never regretted it! :D If you have a digital ballast, I don't think there are many brand choices that are "matched" for them. I know Plantmax is recommended. I like the Phantom ballasts too.

    LED vs HPS

I'd like to try and answer the question on how much light a plant uses (for HID anyway), it's 50-100 watts/sq ft. The sun peaks at around 100 watts/sq ft at noon on a summer day (more or less depending on longitude). So the average throughout the day is about 50 watts/sq ft during the grow...

    Vertical Grows and Heat

Thanks again merkstillgrows. I did some math and found 3,411 BTUs = 1,000 watts of heat. If the HID lights were producing at a 15% efficiency, 3,600 watts would be pumping almost 10,500 BTUs of heat (take 3,411 BTU x 3.6 kw, then subtract 15% of total BTUs). Found HID efficiency from What is...

    Vertical Grows and Heat

Thanks very much merkstillgrows. It might cost a bit to get a window ac, but it could well save me a lot of troubles w/heat. I live in the river valley and it can hit 120+ in shade, usually at least 115 every summer from June-August. The window ac could also offset what the main ac has...

    Vertical Grows and Heat

Superb Samwell Seed Well! :D I may try 6x600 watts in a hexagon or pentagon with one light in the center higher or 2 sets of 3 @ different heights. So I'd have 12 plants and 6 lights. Maybe more like shrubs instead of trees. I'm afraid I'll have to resort to cool tubes, the cheapest I...

    The VerTex

Hey CallmeTex, if you're into simple basic greenhouses the hoop style greenhouse is very cheap, simple & easy to build and can also be pretty efficient. You can cover a lot of space too. They also can hold up to wind & weather pretty well to because of their shape. My favorite greenhouses...
