6 shot, one dead during a protest against police brutality in Portland Oregon. 2022 is going to suck

Oregon is a wonderful microcosm of amerika:
State law forbid Black life till when?

The facade of open-minded progressivism that is Portlandia surrounded by dumb fucks trying to secede and become a part of Idaho. I think it's only like 5 counties, but they ain't even connected counties.

Amerikan propoganda/miseducation is the culprit and CRT is too little too late to even stop the bleeding. Smh
That's what they want.

“Saturday’s Portland mass shooting is another wound in a city reeling from gun violence. Portland last year had a record number of homicides and a surge in shootings that has continued in 2022.”

It's so peaceful sitting in the backyard around the fire pit listening to all the gunshots. True story except for the peaceful part.

Tell us more please; demonstration of power..do perps know cops can lie and say anything they want to get you to confess to something?
I don't know what perps know. I will say that criminals aren't the smartest demographic in this country. We have a whole thread called "do not talk to the police" where people post how shabbily they were treated when they ignored that advice. Go figure.

But I do know that some of the most powerful people in the world speak bald face lies at us through reporters interviews. I do know that Portland's former chief of police flat out lied and reporters covering his statement knew it. Donald effing Trump lied every three minutes for four whole years.

The most powerful will lie and laugh in the face of a reporter.

Like this one regarding Oleg Deripaska to a PBS reporter during an interview regarding his role in the actions by Russia to get his money launderer, Donald effin Trump elected in 2016. He lies and laughs at the reporter when well documented and substantiated facts in the Mueller report were brought up:

So, what do two bit cops in Portland have in common with a Russian Mafia billionaire? They lie without a conscience.

Sounds like Portland needs MORE guns. Isn’t that always the answer?
Portland is a place and the people that live there have varying needs. Some of them need to protect themselves, all of them have the right to use defensive force to do so, none of them have the right to use offensive force to make you pay for their protection.

If you're against violent uses of guns, certainly defund the present model of how police are paid. School teachers too, without threats of violent use of guns, most of them would be jobless.

Police are necessary to protect those unable to protect themselves. The only real question is how much power should they have. Up until recently they have had 100% power. But now these criminal cops are finally being held accountable.

It's every bit as bad as I thought it might be.

God Damn him. I'll bet he pleads self defense.

Just another scrub.
Apparently he was shot as well and is in critical condition at the hospital. Details are sketchy but it appears he opened fire and another armed individual returned fire hitting him. Unfortunately the scumbag was able to get off the shots he did killing one and injuring several others.

I read the article, thanks.

As expected after what went down in Kenosha, the alt right consider protesters meat for the table. This time, the deer shot back.

Referring to @xtsho 's post above.

The original statement by the police was:

Portland police issued this update Sunday afternoon:

"A preliminary investigation into the February 19, 2022 shooting near the intersection of Northeast 55th Avenue and Northeast Hassalo Street indicates this incident started with a confrontation between an armed homeowner and armed protesters.

What we now know is:

"Smith’s identity was first reported by antifascist researchers and the Oregonian/OregonLive. Smith’s roommate and neighbors said he had grown increasingly angry with protests in the neighborhood and across the city, as well as the unhoused community who camp in the area.

Smith’s roommate, Kristine Christenson, told OPB that when she first moved into his apartment seven years ago, he let her stay there for free."

The "confrontation between armed homeowner and armed protesters" is now: "Smith allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired into the crowd, killing Brandy “June” Knightly, 60, and injuring four others. Witnesses said a protester returned fire"

The original statement was false. It was not a homeowner confronting armed protesters. Those falsehoods make it seem as if the protesters are at fault.

The police statement framed the situation in order to make it seem as if the "armed protesters" were culpable? Also, they said it was a homeowner, not some scrub living in a cheap apartment. This is all about framing and conditioning people to accept a narrative of "both sides bad".

Not to mention how the homicidal attack against a BLM peaceful protest march was rolled in with other recent homicides that included domestic violence and police shootings as if somehow the BLM movement is a violent movement, which it most certainly is not. As a racist bitch immediately said in this thread, taking advantage of the lack of information on Sunday.

“Saturday’s Portland mass shooting is another wound in a city reeling from gun violence. Portland last year had a record number of homicides and a surge in shootings that has continued in 2022.”

eff you, ruskool, you racist bitch.
