Bad Teacher

You need to talk to other parents then as a group talk to the principle. If you move your child the rest will still suffer, the next years class will suffer and this person will continue to make life hell for the kids for years to come.

I can't go into detail because it might identify me but last year I had to go down and frank and confrontational meeting with my kids principle. It was over a BS policy the school had that would piss any parent off. The next day things were changed.

We also ran into bullying in class one year, when I found out about it I went down the next morning and chewed out the teacher so bad she almost started crying. I forced her to apologize and promise she would never stand for it again.

I'm normally a nice easy going guy but god damn, sometimes you have to stand up and not be a spineless, cowardly sheep. Moving your child to another school is a temporary solution for one child, it's not the righteous way to handle the situation. And don't forget, your tax dollars are paying this woman to be a tyrant; put a stop to it.

Your mornings are wide open and you have the time it seems to home school, maybe volunteering at the school a few hours a day could help the situation. Wanting to help out in the classroom could be a better approach than wanting to sit in and see whats going on, Maybe start out with recess and lunch details. Your daughter seeing you throughout a rough day could be comforting to her and not make the situation so unbearable for her. There's no way to change her teacher after this year? My child is not in school yet, so TIFWIW, hope this works out for you, I'll be following the thread.

We've been talking with the other parents to see what we can do. Like I said, there have been many complaints to the principle and school board and nothing has been done.

One of the 1st grade teachers at the same school has her 5th grade daughter in the class. When she had words with the bad teacher about they way she was treating her daughter the teacher got even worse, made the other teachers daughter sit in the front by her desk and basically harassed her for weeks.

If something like that were to happen to my daughter I'm afraid I'll catch a charge.

Check out the Khan Academy online. Bill Gates is the money behind what was a really good idea, and his kids are educated there. They promise a world class education for anyone that wants one free of charge. I don't know much more about it than that, but they do get a ton of great press.

Wire the kid, the teacher isn't stupid she/he probably won't act. After you listen to the tape you and every child who is targeted can take this to your attorney to take to your legislator. Then we'll see how long she has her job.... oh and if the school doesn't respond FAST!

I'd sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress, respondeat superior you know ;)

Dammit. I'll have to deal with this too at some point, won't I?

As far as home schooling goes I'm absolutely convinced that there isn't anything we can learn in a traditional classroom that isn't already on the internet. You and your wife can actually teach her REAL history, as well as other cultural lessons that she normally wouldn't get taught. I think home schooling coming from you and your wife could really benefit her if done well. As others have touched on, the social aspect obviously won't be there which would probably be the only thing that she might eventually miss in time and is important. Activities would help with that I imagine. Ask your daughter what she thinks she would like to do and go from there.

Public school is nothing but politics and cronyism. If the teacher's got friends in high places, she ain't going anywhere and probably won't change. And there's probably another cunt just like her at other school.

As much as I'd like to get her fired I don't really want to put my daughter through all the extra drama.

Thankfully we only have the one child so it's not that big of an issue pulling her to get away from the bullshit.

That's what I'm figuring. I'm pretty much self taught, I went to public school but dropped out. I took my HSED test a technical college without study and my scores were in the top 10% of the nation.

I'm smarter than most of the people I've met and don't think I'll have a problem tutoring my daughter. I can probably do better than most "teachers".

I could have probably banged my Spanish teacher junior year. Our class made valentines day cards and she made me a be mine one and used to call me Pablo (my name in Spanish class) in a really seductive tone lol.

I still plan on making a strongly worded complaint. I just don't want my daughter to have to go through anything else. Or worse, something happen that makes me take action.

Remember, I know how to get rid of a body.:p

Agreed. Pulling your daughter from the school only fixes one problem...your daughter. Homeschooling will take alot of effort on your end which im positive you are more than willing to put in. I dont think a parent sitting in the classroom will help mch as you likely wont get the teachers true behavior( pretty balls to be that cunty in front of the parents. ) As far as homeschooling are you and your wife in a position to gaurantee someone will be available everyday so your daughter is never left alone at home? Wouldnt be an option for us as somebody would have to quit theor job and basi lly become a stay at home.

This makes me extra grateful that my parents sent me to a girls grammar school. Trouble is; I had to leave the house at 7am for an 8:30am start. However everyone is used to commuting in London.

My vote is to check out the school 10 miles away. A bit of driving is a small sacrifice to make for a better education. :)

This is awful I know but in elementary when they banned Pokemon from recess one of my buddies snuck in a couple hamsters and let them free. Long story short they ended up getting stuck and dying inside the walls so our classroom would occasionally smell like rotting death for the rest of the school year lol. Teacher was soo pissed. I wish some little shithead In your daughters class would set that cunt straight.
