Bernie Sanders 2020

Feel the Bern?

That's impressive

Sanders had the wherewithal in '85 to publicly denounce the Democratic party as being too corporatist. It's a little shocking and a little bit sad it took 35 years for the rest of the country to catch on, but the advent of the internet has helped that. Bill Clinton's third way politics would come along six years later and result in disaster for the country and for Democrats and the party. We've won one presidential election since from a guy promising hope and change who didn't deliver and has resulted in the worst American president the country has produced after the fact because of it. I wonder what we might end up with if we elect his VP to office and still,
nothing fundamentally changes..

First off, I love the way you blame Trump on Obama. Thanks Obama! That's pretty funny. Perhaps you might want to wonder where we might end up if we re-elect Trump. I think we can count on some fundamental changes if that happens.

Trump is a symptom. When Trump is gone, the affliction will remain. If you choose to elect someone that doesn't work to solve the problem that got Trump elected, you will end up with a potentially worse person in power than Trump, probably someone a lot smarter than Trump, who can do a lot more damage to democracy, to the country, and to the world.

Obama did a lot of great things, but he did a lot of bad things, too. To discount or dismiss the negative things he did is to discount reality and prop him up like some Republicans prop Trump up as more effective than he actually is just because they're Republican too. To have an objective political analysis is to be critical of both parties regardless of personal affiliation.

I know this is far too nuanced for partisans to acknowledge

You talking about nuance is one of the funnier things I have heard so far this year.

Tell me again how I am anti-semetic (sic) if I don't support Bernie.

The only good thing he has ever done was sit in his basement writing porn novels, and the good he done there was self motivated. Never has has done anything good for others. FACT CHECK THAT!!

You understand I was making fun of you when I said you were anti-semetic, right? You continuously bringing this up shows you don't..

Or did that nuance not get through to you?

The only reason the misogynist/sexist/etc. claims get through is because you have an entire media conglomerate backing you, because you back corporate interests at the expense of black people, LGBTQ people, women, etc., and a whole host of sycophants that support you on RIU

The problem is, the real world, real voters, don't revolve around the atmosphere at RIU. You live within a bubble. If it doesn't burst, you're left with another term of Trump, because you're legitimately so hateful and resentful you would rather Trump be reelected than an actual progressive win the 2020 election than be proven wrong.

Now ignore all of these points against you and show everybody how smart you actually are

Right. Sure you were. You "made fun" of everybody for about a hundred posts and then disappeared in disgrace for a month or two. It was nearly as funny as that "joke" where you claimed Nancy Pelosi would owe all the Republicans who voted for her as Speaker. That was fucking hilarious.

Didn't bother reading the rest of your post.

This place is not as funny with only two stooges. You need to get Tyler back in here after he finishes his tour of barren western Motel 6s.

Ok @Padawanbater2, I went back and read the rest of your post - because the online NYT doesn't have funnies anymore and I figured I could use a laugh.

I was not disappointed. That part where you said I would rather have Trump win than a Progressive was top-form Pad-hilarious. You three imbeciles have said that if Bernie doesn't win you will vote for a third party. I have said that I will vote for the Democratic nominee regardless of who they are. The primary is wide open. If Bernie can win it, he will get my vote. Will Biden get yours? Fuck no.

So logic. Wow.

But I have long grown accustomed to your fuzzy grasp of politics and your willingness to break the rules of logic into poorly constructed "arguments" that you laughably seem proud of.

The part where you say I live in a bubble was pretty good. Especially considering that you live in your mom
's basement being terrorized by your sister while you construct a Reddit world where you are a smooth sophisticated ladies man macking on teens who show their titties.

Not all of them actually.

Also not so. We don't have it because of genuine opposition to it. Furthermore, Bernie's plan would increase everyone's taxes, by a very large amount. Healthcare is just a third of his economic agenda and even the 32.6 trillion dollars it would cost in the first ten years can only be half funded by the taxes on the wealthy included in the bill. This has been presented to you repeatedly, yet you continue to make these dishonest posts and even changing threads to run from this fact.

It is too expensive, unless huge tax hikes on the middle class are implemented. If his entire economic plan were enacted we'd all lose two thirds of our pay and the rich would lose 3 quarters of it. 32.6 trillion dollars would be the biggest pricetag of anything, ever, in the history of mankind and it's only a third of his economic agenda.

This might be correct, it is slightly cheaper than the aggregate cost of all healthcare in the US, but only slightly and only if you average it over a decade. For the first few years, it would actually cost more than the entire current federal budget. However, that is only the low end estimate. It could cost as high as 49 trillion dollars according to some industry experts.

No, it's because of the tax hikes and also the fact that people would rather have choice. It can only happen if choice is taken away and replaced by huge tax hikes, for everyone, not just the rich.

Also false. The ACA is extremely popular and so is 'Medicare for all who want it'. In fact, almost every single lawmaker who once voiced support for Bernie's braindead bill has now come out fully against it. Even Warren had to completely rethink how to implement single-payer due to Bernie's lack of half of the funding for his plan. Most people are willing to take a small tax hike to see universal coverage.
Wow..if only you'd put all this effort into a response regarding tax cutz.

The only polls that mean anything are election polls.

Bernie lost to Clinton by a whopping 12% margin.

Is this where you bring up Trump winning the electoral college and therefore became one of a few presidents who won an election despite losing the majority vote?

Speaking of polls, more than half of the people in this country think he should be removed from office.

Also, Biden is the Democratic party's favorite to win the nomination.

But, hey, Bernie is "popular". LOL.
You know they said Clinton was the black populace favorite..she wasn't.. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Clinton was within margin of error against Trump*- true! Bernie was +13..guess we'll never know the answer to that from 2016.

yawn.

more musings from a weak and delusional mind.

I can't wait until the weeping and wailing and cries of rigged begin when Bernie yet again loses in a presidential primary.

Too funny that you are angry that Elizabeth Warren didn't bend the knee to your favorite white male patriarch. LOL
