Blackstar led 240w best yield competition

If you added up all 3 of your plants and only got 2oz with 2x240BS, you fucked something up.

I agree, something must have been wrong. My first grow with one BS240 was white widow. I only vegged for 14 days and had 2 plants start to finish using only the one BS240 (flowering model). I yeilded exactly 3 oz's of well dried, manicured and cured budz. Very sticky, potent crop. I only used floranova bloom using lucas method. Was first time grow and learned a ton, i am sure i could have had a much better yeild if I hadnt made a few minor mistakes...LED's rock!
 
My update:

The contest seedling I had in rockwool didnt germinate. The three little ones in the black tray I have now moved into my diy cfl box (they are non contest) and I put an "Ice" into rockwool a couple days ago. To my surprise, when the cotyl's unfolded there were three of them! Under the 30x loupe I discover not 2 but 3 first leaves aswell. Upon research I find this is like a 1/100 thing and it might even improve yield. So as soon as the leaves are big enough for me to take a pic of I will post it, but that will be my entry, a 3 branch per node feminized Ice, DWC. Maybe with the extra fan leaf coverage I wont have to LST? I will be cloning this one for sure.

LST is the way
 
Just started Nirvana Blue Mystic Auto and World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder under a 240w Blackstar. Will be moving to a 5'x4'x2' mylar tent this week. Will check in with harvest weight down the line.
 
Blue Mystic Nirvana = LST had to shutdown veg early because of vacation, lost 33% of harvest:cry:

50 g or 1.76 oz of well dried, manicured and cured bud
 
960w of blackstar goodness over these girls (4x240w). This is from last night end of day 23 under the lights, tho they did spend their first couple weeks in flower under HID til my order came in... they had just started forming buds though. I got clones of these and other babies coming into flower when these are done that will be all blackstar raised. I have 1xveg & 1xflower 240ws in my veg cab.

i pulled over a hp from a htgsupply 240 and 10 26w cfls in a scrog for my first true grow... check out the sig.

The yield was good, but the penetration into the scrog was total crap. My current grow is just lst and less plants.

I want less weight and a better maturation of the bud.
 
My average was 3.5oz/plant under my blackstars last grow. I expect to increase that this time. My biggest plant pulled over 4 oz from a 5-6 week veg time from seed.
 
480watt Blackstars seemed to average us about 1z per plant on a few. .75 on most. We went back to HPS after giving it a try last year.
 
I grew over 1 oz on my sickliest, smallest plants that I harvested early. Are your blackstars older models? I've heard some complaints about the older ones, don't know how different they are from my recent models -- no complaints on mine I'm averaging 3 1/2+ oz/plant from seed on 6 week veeks veg.

Did you grow single colas or grow bushes? If you grew single cola that may have been an additional issue... LEDs are best for nice even canopies if you want to max out yields.

The only problem with that story is that a 240watt won't cover a 4oz plant
 
LOL not true at all. Here she is. LEDs + Airpots + Organic supersoil + training = big buds. The last pic one of her main branches got snagged and fell off about 1-2 weeks before... so she actually had several more big colas that weren't pictured here in these shots as these were the final harvest shots. That is a foil turkey baking tray fyi. She lives up to her name as well -- Medicine Man but I called this one Dr. Quinn (medicine woman). The airpot she's in is only 2.4 gallons as well, but one gallon of airpots = about 2 of a normal pot. BOOM.

PS - those buds are not airy either -- they are dense.
