I've read all of his works.....effing love it ! " Desolation Angels " was one of my favorites.......shit , I loved all of them ! Quite the dude with quite the circle of friends
.......( Bill Burroughs was one of them......he wrote " Junky " and the ball-buster
" Naked Lunch ".....un-f'ing real ! ) .

Love "Old Bull" ( get the reference?) too.
"Junky" was a fascinating read.
"Naked lunch was too gross for me, i couldn't take it though it's awesome that Steely Dan took their name from it.

gemstone cutting its an age old book thats unavailable anymore, it basicly tells which way to cut n shapee, with what, how to polish them, with what type of material and which type of polishing powder. it gos into the history of gem cutting ect ect, its packed with info. amazing book

I'm old school as well, enjoy the tactile and multisensory appeal/feeling of a book and paper, the smell of a new book or newsprint etc. Can't read/enjoy either audio or on a iPad.

I got ADD. Was always hard to stay focused long enough to be a reader. I read about 12 Star Wars books while in jail though. Not bad right. Out of a 9 month sentence? Lol
My mom would read a new romance novel a night it seemed. She loved reading.

I understand. It took me about 20 samples until I hit pay dirt and found my first binge. For me it is about the voice or voices narrating the book. Daisy Jones and the Six had great voices and so did the housemaid. I get sucked in.
I am listening to another audio book now. It’s an autobiography spoken by Gene Wilder about himself . It’s called Kiss me like a Stranger. It’s interesting. He had a strange relationship with his mother. She was pretty psychologically abusive toward him. He ended up having an obsession with praying for years, until she died. Some hang ups with sex as well. Super sensitive Man.

I prefer my kindle to trying to keep open books. This book I am currently reading is a hard cover. It’s a very intriguing cartoon page turner about Bella’s life from ….is starts where he grew up in Hungry all induced by dreams and nightmares he hasin the hospital as an old man coming down from heroin addiction. One of my favorite Movies is Young Frankenstein which Wilder wrote. I listened to an audio book By Mel Brooks called Young Frankenstein . He talks about how the movie was made. It was ok but I didn’t like the flow of it at all . He jumps around so much, if he started from the beginning of the movie and worked to the end I would have liked it better. but it got me curious about Gene a bit more. I am reading “all about me” by Mel brooks. It’s ok. A slow read for me.
