Here is the table again but with the heatsinks - there are the EB Series strips on the table aswell, the heatsink I calculated there was the 13$ aluminum strip from Home Depot

Great thread.

I use Mouser for drivers/potentiometer and closed electronic box.

I also use terminal straps instead of Wagos

I get a strip for $2 and it was enough for 2 drivers and 4 cobs. With left overs.

Shipping was $20 and very very fast. Like 3 days.

For lights and heat sink I used Northern Grow Lights.

Can't beat his price with flat rate shipping.

The rest I got local.

I am now looking at a 2'x2' space for veg. Trying to decide on 1 cob, quantum or rapidled rooting kit.

If I could find it all in Canada would be great.

Not interested in paying shipping for such a small setup.

Can you post a link to the potentiometer and closed box you use?

Around 130$ can get you 13000 lumens from vero 13 gen 7 at 153 lm/w including shipping and passive heatsinks (not including cob holders and optics) - from future electronics - includes
-cobs
-heatsinks
-driver
-shipping

That should be good for your veg space

Check out the last table I posted and loook

Edit: wait, that's 3500k

Goto the second last table, that shows the 5000k, 14440 and 10800 lumens look like good options, you can see the price shipped with driver and heatsinks is even cheaper than what I just mentioned because the 5000ks are more efficient and higher lm/w

161lm/w 5000k including driver and heatsinks and shipping
14400 lumens 118$
10800 lumens 94$

That's pretty sweet. They do sell cob holders and optics too.

It looks like upfront purchase cost meanwell are not the cheapest on future electronics.

I made a big ass spreadsheet and imputed all the different LED drivers that fit what i was looking for (im a nerd) and it appears that the two Philips drivers I posted earlier seem to be cheaper than anything else I've seen (for 700ma). It's outdoor and dimmable too.
Thanks for posting this thread,I live in BC Canada and was wondering if there was any suppliers in Canada

Looks like the cheap box was discontinued
$30 now.

Potentiometer depends on build. 50k or 100k.

Just search and buy cheapo.

The source carries diodes if needed as well.

I have since found amazon much cheaper.

Kelowna, BC here. I bought from Digikey.ca and Mouser.ca along with Northern Grow Lights for my SST120 heatsinks. I had one junction box made and also made my own junction box out of simple components bought from Home Depot.

Obviously we pay more here for stuff but we just have to get over it. Ordering from Digikey.ca and Mouser.ca is fine.

We do pay more, but as I found up top we can definitely save money if we shop wisely.

I'm a huge fan right now of the Philips 215v @700ma dimmable waterproof driver for 49$. I paid over $100 for a meanwell that matched the same. That extra 50$ could have been a cob!

Shipping information for Canada

Mouser:
up to $100 it's calculated (my order was $20 shipping)
Free shipping on most orders over $100

Digikey:
$8.50 flat rate - Free shipping on orders over $200

Future Electronics:
$7.50 flat rate up to 100lb

Limited time deal: Free shipping from www.arrow.com electronics on orders over $50.
They have cheap Samsung strips - this could be a good money saver if you're looking at buying something right now.
The Samsung strips are more efficient than the EB Bridgelux.

If I only knew.

I bought four bridgelux eb strips and a meanwell from mouser and Digikey including shipping and heatsinks was around 280$

After my handy little spreadsheet I see I can get a couple hundred lumen more using vero 13s for under 150$ shipped. Dang.

Now I wish I had more space in my house for more grow shelves lol

I just checked out those illumitex chips but there are no specs listed on the two that I checked. The links to the spec sheets return 404. Do you have the specs handy?
Fixed, looks like illumitex changed their links, I have linked direct to our data to avoid issues
Cheers

DigiKey prices really suck.

I can order from rapidled and even with shipping and exchange it is cheaper.

Digikey wants $100 for 10 x xml2 and the whole kit including heat sink cost $99 at rapidled.
Did you check future electronics?

Digikey prices aren't bad for everything. I got my eb strips for 21$ each @ 44inches.
