that would be the part where kynes got it right, i don't see how that's torture. the punching is torture, but sleep deprivation and cold, bright, windowless rooms? that sounds more like an office job. i still don't think it's the best way to get info though.

i haven't noticed any naked manpiles since, and unless you got some waterboarding or worse to sweeten the deal with, i'm gonna give that a big "meh" even if it's true.

i already read that part. did you see me giving any fucks, or no fucks about it?

for that matter, how many fucks did i give about the other part where some writer puts his spin on how he or she sees things?

i don't really care too much about the cute, distracting little bunnies you keep chasing in a discussion about torture.

show me some waterboarding and man piles or electrocuted testicles and i'll regain interest again.

We can only give a fuck, if we know, truly, what the fuck....or to fuck...etc. :)

Torment is only useful if they refuse to talk. First the mammal is exposed to the instruments and asked again to obey.

Then regardless of that answer, the mammal is exposed to some level of usage of the instruments on them, to understand the significance.

It is simple aversion training for feral mammals. They have been taught a type of religious invincibility that has to refocused as a Lie. It is tough work, to break down the idea of the comfort of death. You will not be allowed to die. No refuge there. Just like the young Goshawk on the wrist. You have to learn.

So, after that, torment is completely avoidable by absolute cooperation...their choice. And it is so clinical, and harmless, etc, it puts torment up to a whole, new level. Fear is the mind killer. And all, can be made to fear, without the application of pain.

You are producing the Stockholm syndrome on purpose. The good cop suddenly becomes the bad guy. sometimes. But the "real" bad guy is often the one that bursts in and saves you. But, then you find the "real" good guy, washing a police dog in the water that is meant for you, next.

Then, later, it is a pig in your water, and no one, you have seen before, is there. Woops, these are young women, that taunt in your native language after weeks of clinical silence.

Weird and hopeless, by design. Only one way to go. Tell it like it is.

somebody hasd never been to jail here in the USA apparently.

first you get fingerprinted and photographed
then YOU GET STRIPPED NAKED and somebody checks your orifices for evidence and contraband (and weapons)
then you go into lockup ALONE to await your interrogation (wow no co-conspirators, so you cant get your story straight? must be torture)
the lights NEVER go out
it's always fucking cold, or balls hot.
it stinks like puke, shit, and fear-urine
the food sucks.
the guards are hardly friendly
you dont get a koran bible or a copy of the buddhist sutras
when they do get around to "questioning" you they use lies, intimidation and not a small amount of physical "discomfort" and the promise of a long stay in a small cell with a HUGE and sexually depraved cellmate to squeeze info out of you.

man, we torture EVERYBODY.

so wait, jail in America is like the Sandals resort in Jamaica?

they bring frosty carribean cocktails and doobies to you in your bungalow, while you lounge with your toes in the sand, enjoy 5 star dining at any of their 12 fabulous restaurants, or ride horses along 25 miles of white sand beaches or swim in crystal blue waters and dive on unspoiled reefs?

i spent a day in arpaio's tent city when i was 18, and i can tell you it was not as bad as kynes is making things out to be.

but hell, arpaio doesn't have any reputation for being tough though.

so you didnt get stripped, searched or interrogated?

the outdoor nature of the tent jail prevents the infusing of concrete walls with the delightful aroma of decades of inmates, so the smell would necessarily be less oppressive

i spent years in the desert. if you claim it was not either Fucking Cold, or Balls Hot in those tent's youre lying.

the food was good?

the guards were friendly as fuck too right?

the jail i was in wasnt a dickensian nightmare, but it wasnt a summer camp for rich kids either.

if you put some talibs in the LA PD lockup, they would be screaming TORTURE to an eagerly attentive press.

i went in january, it was kinda cold, but you get a thin, threadbare blanket. no pillow though. rain cam in through the holes in the tents at places, but inmates were not really affected.

food was good. emu stew, donut holes, and i believe french fries.

we stripped going in and spread cheeks, but not touched. no interrogation, basic health check.

rollies were $0.50, tailors were $1.00 (rolled versus store bought cigarettes). every drug you could want was also available. inmates were allowed $15.

guards were dicks about letting us out on time, stating that they could keep us up to 36 hours legally even though we were only scheduled for 24.

one dude hose to stay the night in the small, cramped, stinky holding cell rather than shave his face. the rest of us sat in there for about 4 hours at the beginning and end of the whole affair.

i never spent the night in the drunk tank in Santa Barbara (worst smell i ever smelt) either

i never spent the night in the Vallejo PD's lockup either.

but when a haji claims he was subjected to the third reel of Casino Royale despite no marks on his body, well that shit has to be true, cuz hajis never lie (taquiyya notwithstanding...)
