dude. so many things wrong with this assumption.
the assumption that there even was a "ripper' is entirely unproved, it could easily have been 2 or more unconnected raving nutbars.
the killings were only connected by female victims, mutilation, and some "letters" presumably sent to the local newspapers, but british newspapers of the time were hardly useful sources of factual information.
theres not even a convincing case to be made that the 5 most commonly attributed killings were done by a single person.
the state of forensic science at the time was pathetic, theres not enough evidence to make a case against anyone for even one of those murders. you might as well have thrown out the wendigo, Spring Heeled Jack, werewolves, vampires, or that escaped mental patient with a hook for a hand who always leaves his hook on the door handle of a teenager's car at Makeout Point.

more cases get solved by fingerprints and fiber evidence than dna.
usually dna evidence is used to prove the suspect (or convict) didnt do shit.

Dennis Rader, AKA BTK (Bind/Torture/Kill) - disorganized in that he's not only a psychopath, but also a multiple personality sociopath with god complex personality-like traits. Killed 10, suspected military PTSD given his background in the US military (USAF) (The PTSD is my evaluation based on what I've read and studied about him) His eventual confession was without remorse in any form.. and he racked up 10 life sentences.

good play, but i would argue he was not disorganized. he was able to conceal his "hobby" and keep the cops guessing for decades.
he was only caught because he sent the cops his fucking personal details on a floppy disc.

crazy psychotic and deranged does not mean disorganized. BTK was methodical in concealing his identity (till that last one...) he kept the evidence profile as lean as an ethiopian chicken, and i=f not for his self aggrandizing hubris he would still be making magic today.
a disorganized killer would be somebody who hacks up his victim with an axe and then wanders off leaving all manner of evidence behind, the kind of killer that stoners would be if weed really did make people violent.
such killers rarely get to enter the ranks of "serial" killers since they generally get caught with ease.

Best I can come back with is this:
- The crimes of a sociopath are spontaneous and therefore quite disorganized. Those of a psychopath can be carefully thought out.
- When many people think of sociopath vs psychopath, they tend to believe that psychopaths have the skills to hide themselves in society, to blend in. Even their families may not recognize a psychopath. Sociopaths on the other hand, are seen as wild, a bit dangerous, somewhat disturbed and/or frequently in trouble with the law.
So I would say he's not one or the other, but a split/combination of the two.. which actually solidifies my theory somewhat that it was also PTSD-driven... hmm, more research will be done.
