Flowering outside for at least a month now and have some questions

Let me start off by saying that I am pretty new to this. I have only had one yield, and it was using an indoor aeroponics system. I grew some MK Ultra that was pretty nice, but I am by no means, even a novice (IMO). I am really trying to figure all of this out.

I threw some seeds that I got from a pretty good source out in my garden this year. I live near the Great Lakes, so the weather is a little rough. I threw them out there in late April (when temps were getting up into the 70s daily), but nothing sprouted until late June. I started seeing the hairs pretty heavily in late September. It is now Oct. 23, and I have some good looking buds, but the plant seems to have stopped growing. I am getting more and more crystals everywhere, but the buds really aren't getting any bigger (currently all about the size of a quarter). The plant looks healthy, so I am not sure what is happening. I have read that the cold weather can paralyze a plant, but the weather has been nice recently.

We got down into the low 40s at night bout 2 weeks ago, but has been in the 60/70s during the day, and only upper 40s/lower 50s at night for the last two weeks. The plant is in a strange place, because it got plenty of direct sunlight during the summer days, but now that we are in the fall, the sunlight is blocked by the fence that it is next to.

I don't think that she has stopped growing, but I am wondering if there is anything else that I can do for her. She stands about 4 feet tall, and looks very healthy. I almost moved her inside when the weather got cold, but everything I read about outdoor to indoor transplants sounded pretty rough, so I decided to wait it out in the garden.

I will try to upload some pics of her a little later. I am really looking for some help here. I don't want to lose her after everything that we've been through! LOL!

Thank you for any help!

I have moved them inside when late bloomers ran into cold weather and had not problem at all. Now mine were in the pots and it sounds like yours are in the ground and in that case I would not dig them up at this point and put them in pots. If that is the case just wait them out. As for the cold, get a burlap sack and if you know it is going to be very cold at night cover them up before you go to bed and pull off the bag in the morning. Four weeks into flower you still got at least four more weeks left at best.

Firstly, thank you for your response.

Yea, she is in the ground at this point. Digging her up would make me very nervous. Can I really just leave her out there and cover her at night when temps get to 50s during the day and 30s at night (especially without her getting anymore direct sunlight)? Will she still grow with watering and no direct light in the cold temps?

Sorry to keep asking so many questions, but I am really interested in similar experiences that people have had.

It takes 2-4 months outside for flowering but as you describe it sounds like u may have another 2-6 weeks and with-in that last week she will swell up cause shes ripe.

Dig her up if you want to extend flowering time and possibly kill her or just shock her for a week or 2 either way you gonna wreck some roots

Hey HotShot717, I am located in Chicago as well. I didn't want to put that out there, but since someone else already did, then I will divulge. I live on the north side (Jeff. Park area). The weather has been rough, and looks to be pretty bad over the next few weeks. That is why I am getting so nervous. I will have pics up a little later today or tomorrow. Thanks again!

Here are some pics of what I am talking about.

The coloration and abundance of the hairs haven't really changed much in the last 2 weeks, and the weather coming up looks pretty rough (40s during the day and 30 and below at night). I am also concerned about the fact that she doesn't get any direct sunlight any longer due to the angle of the light over the fence. She is starting to smell really fruity, so I sure as heck don't want to lose her!

such a tight situation..

like others said, you could risk killing her while transplanting to extend flowering indoors.
or you could take the fence down right there...but then you'd lose privacy..

Man, I wish the fence could come down. It separates my yard and my neighbors, so not an option. Do you think if I cover her for the next several colder days, and open her up during warmer days, that she could still finish outside, or is the light a necessity?
