germinating seeds with alcohol?

just put a little h2o2 ( hydrogen peroxide ) in your water...
that will help a lot better then alcohol..
im pretty sure alcohol will kill your seeds.....:peace:

the enzymes on the seed are designed to work with water to trigger the growing process.
it seems to me the alcohol would chemicaly interrupt the natural process.
i don't think it would work but am curious to see you try. never know, right?

Germinating seeds with alcohol = unnecessary. Water works just fine, and is what plants prefer to drink. Even IF it worked, what advantage would you possibly gain?

i think this idea came from that guy who found using an h2o2 solution stimulated growth in hydroponic seedlings.

has the OP responded once? or did you piss him off with your shenanigans?

when i first imagined this i pictured seeds germinating in the bottom of a half empty bottle of captain morgans. they would be some drunk seeds

iv put h2o2 in water befor when germin seeds..as an airater for like 8hrs..
then i put them on a paper towl..
but yes at the time i was tryin out hydroponics....:peace:

how would you know if you never try? its only an experiment i like to try new things i mean isnt that how people make better weed..? tryin new thing result in failure but also success. look at kush... it wasn't around at hippie times. weed is gettin better by the day simply becuz people try new things. and plus tryin with bag seed would not hurt at all. and wats funny is out of the 29 post only one person has tried it and used hydrogen peroxide.

Kush has been around forever, just not readily available. - Kush refers to a region of Afghanistan / Pakistan where the plants originated.

OR....... it has been tried already and discarded, but you who does not do his/her research think you have stumbled upon a new idea.

Again, I have germinated hundreds of different kinds of seeds and have never run across a recommendation to soak in alcohol. I'm sure if it was a good idea, our forefrtahers would have recorded it for us. But alas, nothing.

Go ahead and try it though. All you will waste is some seeds, alcohol and your time. :peace:

Sounds like a dumb idea. Alcohols moves water out of areas. That's why it such a cooling effect on your skin. Most likely than not you'd just dry out your seed/seedling or just fuck shit up. Also it evaporates way too fast and the smell would be a pain. Also if I'm not mistaken alcohols are PH acidic so take that into consideration. Bottom line just use water if it's good enough for nature it should be good enough for you.

i go poop in a cup, put the seeds in there, and viola! not only does it work for germination, but it guarantees seeds will be female.
