Right... I don't know you. Actually, I've read very few posts from you. Seems we hang out in different forums. I don't have to know you to make that comment though, it's what I do, see intellectual honesty link in my sig...
You come with several theories as to why that bulb is so great, which for me were easy to refute with some factual numbers. Your response is that we should trust your perception over those obvious facts (the bulb gets old fast, has far less lumen output of which surely not that much is entirely useless as you suggest).

Starting a test with such a "firm believe" makes a subjective test difficult. You have an obvious biased preference for the outcome of the test, both ways (want the bulb to "live up to its hype" (your words), and want hps to suck). I skimmed through your thread, haven't found anything that looks like a clean side-to-side test yet.

Quite, that's because the side by side only started when I got the bulbs screwed in last week.

I'll run them in the same room on the same RDWC with the same environmental conditions- and I'll also run them in their own room set up exactly the same way as another set up with HPS thouies. The best bulb will win, make no mistake.

Your logic used lumens- lumens are not for plants, they aren't a good yardstick for measuring PAR, or plant active response. Therefore, your logic was fatally flawed by bad assumptions from the beginning. The lumen maintenance on CDM is no worse than HPS, so that's a specious argument against the tech's relative merit.

I'm a friendly guy, but I'm tired of the challenging tone. I didn't kick down your plants, so be nice to me! If I challenge your assumptions I'm down for debate- but personal attacks are just immature.

Of course I believe in the change, or I wouldn't have made it. DUH. That said, I've made plenty of changes in the past that didn't pan out- and I believed in them, too, until the facts proved my beliefs incorrect. (Lovely side conversation to be had about light movers here, as one example.) More often, the facts confirm them- and it's this ongoing experience that's making my beliefs a better guide as time goes forward.

I once believed it works similarly for most others, my experience suggests otherwise.

Higgins defend him and their piles of cash on international TV. Most of us know inside notable figures that have walked away from this company over the past year. Yeah, what the above poster said, squared- sodomising an eleven year old girl is very few people's idea of acceptable behavior.

Beyond that, the whole ANal lineup is an incredible ripoff; for the same six hundred bux all those salty water bottles will cost you for a single decent sized run, I bought enough dry nutrient salts to supply a dispensary level operation for MONTHS. 500 pounds of them, to be exact.

I can't even stand belle watching Law & Order SVU. That shit makes me sick.
I will use another brand for this room and use that shit up where it's at.

AN is a nasty company that does nasty things to its own distributors, let alone to trusting customers- nevermind the rest.

It's well worth it to educate yourself just a bit about nutrients and go to dry nutrient salts, as the savings will add up quickly compared to water bottles.

Example; Bud Factor X, for $81.25 a liter. What magical elixir lies within? Would you believe... EPSOM SALTS?! My FIFTY POUND BAG of it only cost me $72.00. The price difference is so large that it can only be described as 'ripping off the unsuspecting consumer.'

Do not get me started on their flushing solutions, as they amount to sugar water. With epsom salts.

Bud Factor X is a blend of crustaceans that tricks the plant into thinking it is being attacked, and triggers the plants defense system which increases terpenoid production. It is basically the same thing as harpin proteins.

My 250ml bottle was $30 and will last me over a year as a foliar spray at a rate of 2ml/L

My Hortilux bulbs are visibly brighter than my Sun Master HPS bulbs, and are way more reliable. I have gone through 2 SM bulbs in the last 6 months compared to my hortilux bulbs that are brighter at 6 months than my newer SM bulbs.

I fear for your disappointment. Just don't think that nice run under brand new lights is about anything but that, and not the bulbs' internal makeup.

Do a side by side with the spendy bulbs vs the cheapies. I did and I found that I was wasting my money buying anything other than Plantmax for $25 apiece. Until now, that is... my Philips 860W CDM lamps are really making a difference.
