Thanks man !!! Welcome back !
thanks for the Sub ! +rep
I was wondering if everyone was disappointed with me for chopping too soon..... cause it just got dead for a while. Then i realized... its that time of the year.. people get busy...
Plus this year started out real rocky for me..... all is well now.

Once again, thanks for coming back ! The more people following, the more suggestions I will get on my grow, and I could always use pointers !

Hmmm gnats from MG soil? weird i never get them i've never had any bug problems guess im just lucky =)
Well, it sat in my shed until i decided to grow... so realllllyyyy... it's probably not MG's fault. I had the half open bag sitting in the one place bugs like to gather... so.. I will be picking up some more dirt soon. This MG does not drain well, I think that's part of my gnat problem (they love overly moist soil, and I have a heavy hand when it comes to watering).. It can go all week, and the top is dry as hell, the leaves start to droop a little , but at the bottom, it's like i just watered the damn thing. It has no per-light or vermiculite or any thing to help it drain. Is there anything else that is at Lowes that you guys know of that works well? I would like to use FF Ocean Mix ... but there is no where around here that re-sells it, and I can't afford shipping on a heavy ass bag of dirt.
Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated on the dirt, I think that is why my plants grow sooo slow. when i pulled Cesar out of his pot, his root system wasn't very big at all.

Thanks guys for reading my journal ! Stay tuned for greatness... it's on its way !

Jesus Freaking Christ... Has anyone seen the price of the "Deep Chunk" seeds... I mean.. it's hella sugar coated... prolly the most I've ever seen a plant produce... but I think it was 151 bucks a seed...... maybe it was a 5 pack or something.. but that's waaaaayyyy to much for 1 seed that isn't even feminized. Whats the most anyone has ever paid for seeds.... I'm really thinking about ordering some when tax money comes in. Do you guys have them shipped right to your house (where you grow?) or do you get a friend to ship them to and just pick 'em up from your friend?
Tell you guys what.....
I'm thinking about ordering a few different strains (that's if I can convince the wife).
Tell me what strain you like.. or you want to see me grow... and I will label a pot with your name on it, and grow / harvest / and smoke .... in honor of <insert name here> lol
Sound cool? tell me what you guys think..........

thanks for reading my ramblings ! lol

Stealth shipping is the shit! i use attitude and if i was you i would grow autos because u want a fast flowering plant for fast bud (guessing this because your doing 12/12 from seed) u can run 24/7 or 20/4 or 18/6 you prolly know this already but im super stoned

And stay away from MG moisture control some ppl like it but i don't or just go with FF i would

Ok, so here is an update......bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

Ok, so I went to a nursery this weekend....... asked the old man there if he has any potting soil that drained well, but still kept moisture. He gave me a story about how they keyed his order in wrong and he paid for one thing (cheaper) and got another (a more expensive product) so he ordered 5 -6 quart bags of dirt and got these huge 3 cu feet bags for the same price... so he was selling them for 10 bucks a bag... not bad for 10 bucks. He might have caught on to my "tomato" garden....... he told me ... I'll teach ya how to grow anything if ya want to call it tomatoes...... with a big smile on his face... Made me a little nervous.. but i figured.. he works in a green house, and he prolly has his own little grow going on somewhere. Also picked up some suprethrive. He said it would be real god for my "tomatoes"....lol... anyways.... looking forward to using the new soil.

To be as stretchy as she is... Celia is doing pretty good ! A bit slow.... and small.. but hey.... every little bit counts ( I want to make some hash this time around)

100_3757.jpg

I went ahead and LST'ed the bigger plants ... before they show sex.... I hate lsting during flower... I think it takes away from bud production because of heal time.. or shock time.

The seed I put in Cesar's pot to replace the male that grew in popped and sprouted... I'm trying to not let this one get so damn stretchy .. I've noticed.. all my plants stretch real bad.... I can't lower or raise my lights.. they are fixed....

Hopefully I will see a bunch of females soon !

I used to say the same thing unitl a couple months ago and BAM, I got hit with mites followed by fungus gnats all in a months time. Sucks so consider yourself lucky and find some wood to knock on, lol.

@ greenpower - I like this grow a lot. Keepin it simple is nice and I got some good results from those same CFL lights. I think they're the same anyway, got mine from Home Depot for like $15 but I think mine said 68 watts on them so maybe not the same. I ran some of those and some smaller ones in the 6000K spectrum at the same time and didn't get a lot of bud but it was really nice stuff. I grew Shiva Skunk and White Widow with al CFLs and loved every gram of it.

Yea, I've seen the ones at home depot. I got mine from Lowes, the biggest ones they had there. ( I think those 68 watters are the biggest thing home depot offers). I just added 2 more to the mix. I know 260 watts isn't a lot.. but its a hell of a lot better than what i was using before i started posting to my journal.... (god it hurts to type this... I was using 2 23 watt or 32 watters... very under powered) but it has come a little way form what it was. thanks for the visit, and posting in my journal... stop by and post as much as you like ! I try to update as much as i can, as for seeds and strains... my brother in law gives me some seeds he gets out of his mids bags... every now and then he will find a good seed in his "dank bag" and I will try and grow it out. I'm sketchy about ordering seeds... so I figure with the right settings .. even some schwag can be some decent bud. I got impatient on my first grow.... chopped way to early. Hopefully the second time around will be better.. although.. I have already chopped one male, hopefully the rest are female.

I finally have a female (Nancy), hopefully not a Hermi...... i saw what might be a ball and not a pre-flower.... can only hope.
the rest should be showing within 2 or 3 days (fingers crossed)
I'm really hoping that the one I topped is a Fem. I've never topped before and this one went really well, so hears to hoping that its a fem.

hey man, not sure if you still are looking to avoid stretching, but if you can't move the lights you could always raise the plants up... if you keep them about 1.5 or 2 inches from the cfls that should be ideal.

hey man, congrats on the female! not sure if you still are looking to avoid stretching, but if you can't move the lights you could always raise the plants up a little bit... if you keep them about 1.5 or 2 inches from the cfls that should be ideal for short internode distance.

oops, sorry for the double post bongsmilie

It's all good !

Thanks for the advice +rep
I try to keep them up on small boxes and close to the light.. i just need something bigger and more solid to hold all of the pots at one time, like a tray that i can adjust up and down. Everything is looking beautiful, I can't wait to see if i have any more females.

Gave everyone a good watering last night. Started the bloom ferts and put a few drops of superthrive in the mix. I've read on several threads that superthrive will make your buds stringy and fluffy. It is really used for Veg and shocked plants or to assist in rooting or germing... so I figured one shot won't hurt.. hell they might be in shock anyways, my temps are dropping down to 70 at night and up to 85 during the day.... plus i can't close my box any more.. so light leaks might affect the grow..... they are in a closet, with the door closed (a big walk in closet) but the light from under the door when im in my room and what not can still get in.... I grew like this toward the end of my last grow and didn't notice any ill effects... but I always wonder.

So .... everyone is juiced up, can't wait for bud production to begin !

I've got the 1 fan in there.... I can turn it on high.. I think i still have it on low..... although.. When i turn it on high... i can't have any seedlings in the box.. they all get blown over.

try to elevate it so its blowing across your lights and overtop of your plants but more hitting your bulbs to keep them cooler. anything over 80 is pretty high 74.5 is ideal i keep mine at about 75-76 lights on
