Automatic weapons are unavailable. What constitutes "strict" licensing of handguns, and what level of strictness will minimize mean/stupid acts with guns while leaving their basic role (personal defense of the citizen) intact? cn

I don't think there is a right answer to this. I agree that criminals will get their hands on guns regardless so I don't agree with being a sitting duck like us Cannabians. It's only fair that law abiding citizens be able to cap a mofo if threatened but as mentioned, how can u control the stupid acts? Obviously, some regulation is needed for the mentally ill and criminals but where do u draw the line. I like Canadian laws which make guns less readily available but the bullshit lies in the fact that u can't protect urself with a gun u legally own(stupid fucks). I think that when criminals know citizens are armed and allowed to stand their ground, them bitches are less likely to try something stupid. I don't know what the answer is. I believe we all have a right to defend ourselves but I also agree the less guns out there...the better. I'm contradicting myself in the same sentence that's why i say there is no right answer. I'm done brain farting!

I used to go to moosehead lake every summer, also spent a winter there once at our cabin. Beautiful outdoors there.

We had a cabin, my folks did with a boat dock where you couldnt see any people or other cabins from. I would sit out on the dock and fire one up in complete peace and quiet. Spent weeks there and never even saw another person.

The interesting bit is, when the Bill of Rights was penned, the arms in question were (excepting square-rigged warships) the most advanced military technology of its day. So if Article 2 were recognized as written, the only thing keeping me from owning a fully-operational Abrams tank or A-10 (with a full load for the Avenger) or even Ohio-class sub (with up to 288x W-88 warheads with the handy long-range dispenser) is the price tag and extended warranty (none). cn
