thanks kk, will def check your grow out.

Looking good homer! Clarice likes her facemask..lol.
haha, yes sir she does.

also, if anyone knows about powdery mildew, i've been following tricka's suggestion of spraying with "1 part skim milk" and "5 parts water", which is slowing down the problem but not quite solving it. another suggestion is doing a "sulfur burn" but it seems expensive (over $100) and possibly overkill for my uhaul setup...

does anyone know an effective (and cheap) way to treat powdery mildew?

here's a couple pics showing the problem... thanks for any suggestions!!!

thanks kk. so i spent the last hour reading about powdery mildew for the past hour, and it's not looking good. it's a more serious problem than i thought...

i'm not going to get rid of it, that's for sure (once it manifests, it's already deeply set in the whole plant). the best solution i've found on this forum and general searching are two sprays, one called "greencure" and another called "serenade". i'm going to try to get some greencure today and apply it, and basically have to continue treating it every day or as much as i can throughout the grow.... this totally sucks, and i might be forced to harvest early if it gets much worse!

thanks jhod, if i manage to control the powdery mildew, all will be good. otherwise, disaster is looming....

a lot of the leaves are looking like this:

It's gonna be allright...Just use the greencure and that should take care of it. PM sure does suck, and it especially sucks to have to spray something on a budding plant, but you still have 4+ weeks till harvest so you should be cool! Just don't stress out too much over it, cause when I had a plant with PM, I butchered the poor thing for the last 2 weeks of it's life, pulling off all it's leaves one by one as they became infected...lol...I had another plant not more than 5 inches away from the one with PM, and it remained unaffected...weird

Oh fuck Homer....that is not good man, i just and went and had a good look then, and buy the look of the spread or infestation it looks to me as its well and truely set in, this is the bad bit because you wont get rid of it, burning sulfer is the only way to anihlate PM, have not used or heard anything about these products you mention, which is a bummer, i only have a crap way atm its just off the top off my head
but here goes dont laugh as i dont know if you have access to sulphur but you know ya standard (non-strike-anywhere) matches, well their tips contain an oxidizer-potassium or sodium chlorate, and a fuel - sulfur, mixed with an organic binder such as gelatin or dextrin.

The potassium chlorate is reduced to potassium chloride, sulfur is oxidized to sulfur dioxide (the source of the burnt match smell) go and do like 4-5 'hot box's' (burning the whole box at one time) around your girls and contain them in that smoke solution, this will be difficiult as you made need to put a cardboard box over them, and also you dont wanna set fire to them.....dont worry hot boxing isnt that dangerous as you might think you can actually hold the match box and it not burn you, you need to stop the smoke from dissapating so yeah cover em up and dutch oven them for say 1/2 hour twice a day.....other than that try straight milk and pray it doesnt fuck with your buds or yeild quality

that sucks homer, hopefully you find something that gets it taken care of... gl bro :bigjoint:

thanks meta for the reassurance. i will try not to worry as that never helps anything, but i'm getting on the "greencure" thing immediately and will report how it goes.

thanks trick, appreciate the suggestion. i will try the match solution after i see what the 'greencure' does.

soooo pissed about this, but i'll try not to get too stressed about it. i think the reason it all started was the way the intake fan is pushing dirty air from the closet into the box, unfiltered. i know it's too late to really fix that shit now, but i'm going to try replacing the intake with a true-air which will push clean air in. that and the green cure, we'll see what happens. then the matches. damn it all!!!!

but it's ok, and i appreciate all you guys' concern and suggestions, truely.

I dunno about burnig the matches, that seems like it will definately impart some flavor on the buds...But i've never done it. I'll never do it, sounds dangerous and I would question it's effectiveness...Greencure is made for PM, if that doesn't do the trick, I don't know what will. The reason burning sulfur works is because it changes the pH on the leaf surface, and PM can only grow at a specific pH, so if they make a spray that can do something similar, I'd go for the spray. Not to knock your technique, Tricka, but just seems kinda risky and more of a "last minute" sorta ploy. And chances are even if he eliminates the PM in his box, the spores are still present in the room that he is growing in, so to really eliminate it, you'd have to sterilize the room you're growing in, and slap a filter on your intake that can handle fine particulate matter. No, i'd say if the greencure doesn't work, then maybe try burning 2 boxes of matches a day in your cardboard box ;)

yeah it is a little drastic but it was just off the top of my head :( (*really stoner voice* Drastic times call for drastic measures maaannnnnn) lol

But your absolutely 100% correct Mets, and as a mushroom grower my self i should of mentioned the spore part----VERY IMPORTANT HOMER!

haha yeah thanks meta, 2 matches a day, real convenient lol. for sure i will try the green cure first -- it says that it is safe to harvest fruit "1 hour after spraying", so 3 weeks into flowering, i'm not too concerned about that. what i am concerned about is the plants making it 5-7 more weeks to harvest, but i'll try my best. also, after this grow is done, i'm going to have to do some very serious cleaning, disinfecting, fumigating, etc, that whole room if i ever wanna grow again there (which i do).

alright, going to buy some greencure now. wish me luck fellas.
