4-5 weeks i think. im not worried about time. im just trying to get it right. they should blow up very soon. DP says strawberry cough explodes at end of week 4 and mid of week 9. so they should take off soon. especially since its not humid in there anymore. good stufffffs.

Thanks fdd. means alot coming from a seasoned pro like yourself.

i flower in a 3 X 6 room. i am only using half or 3 X 3 of it for plants at the moment. my chair is in the other half. i want to change a few things. the location of my door and what not. i have 1 600w right now. i want to add a second light, use the whole 3 X 6 area and do what you do. :blsmoke:

I feel like t5s were made to ScrOG. Even light distribution over a large area seems like it could make a ScrOG of champions! I have given a lot of thought into investing in t5s at some point. Light penetration is not a big priority in this method, so you don't need the big-watt high-lumen lights. If anyone is considering a new lighting system and has a penchant for experimentation... I hope he will consider this. I think the yield per watt would be ridiculous; although the initial investment of a multi-bulb t5 setup can be prohibitive. Someone go for it!!

Hmmm... I am really considering this idea. I am using a 4ft 4 bulb T-5 set-up right now. I might just try a little scrog with 6 kali-mist clones and hopefully soon 4 purple haze and 2 orange kush.... time will tell. My set up is on like page 2 of my grow journal in my sig..

First off, Billybob, I just read through this entire thread and your grow looks damn pretty. You have inspired me to start SCROGing. I think it would be a great way to get the most out of my space. I'm new to the game and feel like reading this thread has tought me a lot. I appreciate that.

I'm in the process of designing myself a stealth grow box with paramaters of 54"w x 27"d x 40"h. I am planning to take a foot of that width to use as a mother chamber. Leaving me a 42"w x 27d x 40h. What do you think I would need in terms of lighting for my flowering side? I want to have enough power but heat is probably going to be an issue for me.

Sounds awesome how many plants are you planning on scroggin in there?

Heat can always be solved with proper ventilation. How many plants are you trying to grow? In that space i would probly grow 3-4 at most in a scrog. rule of thumb is 1 sq ft pr plant in scrog. but honestly i gave mine 3 sq foot each and i realized if they were crammed into 1 foot sections i would be pulling my hair out with all the crowdedness of the screen. its already maxxed out right now.

I have some T5 bulbs laying around, but the big investment is in the fixture, which costs about $250 for a 4-foot 8-tuber. Does anyone know if it's possible to make a homemade T5 fixture? I'd be willing to try, given savings and the increased lighting efficiency.

I was picturing that 4 would fill the space nicely. I'm just concerned that having only 40" of total hight for my enclosure might make it hard to keep the plant away from the light and burning would be an issue. Should I use a cool running bulb? or do they just not cut it? Any recommendations??

I agree. I think a scrog forum would be a great idea.

that should suffice man. You shouldnt have any heat problems. i have my 250mh in my veg box that is 36x33x40 with just some simple mini box fans rigged up on it venting it and the temps stay at about 78 in there. u should be fine with a good quality fan.
