i wanna switch to led but what light works?

Not saying these are no good. I have no clue, could be badass. If they are though the company could stand to market them a little better. Just things that stand out to me that would make me question prior to purchase.

I do not work for BML at all, I have been emailing their CEO and he has been answering all my questions. He sent me some pictures with his light meter, I will ask him if it is ok to post these pictures. This is the only company that illustrates the importance of PPF, PPFD, and PAR to my knowledge, and I looked for like 3 months before buying my second LED. If you would like to see the results I have a grow journal going with strawberry cough and skywalker, feel free to pop in and take a look. You can always give BML a call and speak to Nick, he is the CEO and he really knows his shit. He used to work for Illumitex, another sick LED company, not alot of mj growers actually look at these lights because they are also marketed at universities and labs doing experiments. Very friendly, and well imformed, I will be doing a light review for the spyder as soon as my strawberry finishes.

some will discredit the spyder and say this and that, take a look at my pictures, they speak louder than any other person who is an "expert". May the force be with you

Yeah see if he is cool with posting some actual numbers. Interesting that he used to work for illumitex because that was the first thing that came to mind the first time I saw these. So that makes sense now with the similarities of the individual arrays. Wonder if they are using the same suppliers. Either way I'll have to come check out your grow. Grew the kyle kushman strawberry cough for a couple of years before taking a break. Guys I left it with lost that one too... smh But yeah anyways, I figured you didn't work for them just was trying to state it so you didn't think I assumed you did. Just general observations that stood out to me. Interested to see how these do regardless that's for sure.

I'm very interested too, somebody has to be the first to take the plunge into the deep end. Yeah, I looked it all up on Linked-in, he used to be the vp of the horticulture division. And I want to mention that BML just started their horticulutre line, I was one of the very first customers to get the light, I believe I was number 9, given my order number; however, they are big in the fish tank world, they have won multiple awards for aquarium lighting. I don't know anything that happened between Illumitex; however, one observation I made was BML is available straight to the public, where Illumitex you have to go through a supplier, so maybe there was differences among how to supply lights, I have no clue. There are an array of LED companies to choose from, just too many scams, it's nice that Princeton had a review for the lights.

You can choose any spectrum you want with BML, hence the name Build My LED. Look through their customized spectrum, you can create your own if you want, I don't know any company that offers that option.

As someone who not only works with grow lights, but also works in lighting (aka gaffing) for films and tv, I'm mad at myself for missing it. The 3 people standing on the left hand side of the photo are only casting 2 shadows :cry:

They drive their leds very soft due to inadequate passive design, hence the low par/umole#s.......like the panel, just needs some improvements down the line.

I emailed Nick, he was cool with the pictures. They are doing a side by side comparison of the spyder vs Illumitex Neosol, BML is $400 cheaper, but again it all depends if you trust the company you bought from, anyone can post numbers or stats. Here are the pictures you requested and the email, just edited for privacy reasons.

"Hi XXX. Thanks for the update. I’m glad you like the fixture XXX I just took some photos of the same setup at our local shop (notice how the outer bars are pointed in), as some people didn’t think we could deliver these light levels. See attached pictures. Just keep the light bars aimed at your plants as they grow, as they will thank you XXX We use a proprietary optical system to deliver the light to your plants, and this is the reason the fixture is easier on your eyes. I don’t know that fixture, but I’m guessing they do not use optics on the diodes. If this is true, they will look very bright to your eye…especially if they are all clustered in a small area (like most of them are). We spread the 270 Osram LEDs over a 36”x36” footprint, which results in more even light coverage over the 4x4 area. Hence, it will appear less bright to your eye. If you want to test our optical system, close your eyes and crawl under the light to see how bright the fixture really is. Make sure you wear sunglasses, even if your eyes are closed XXX

I appreciate the feedback on the install. I will see if we can make it easier on the customer. Maybe a quick YouTube video would be a good option, as well.

I had to zoom in a couple pics to see the meter reading but it seems legit, I know photoshop or what not, but I believe it.

Chinese rebrand . Uses epiled and epistar. Blue heavy spectrum in even the flower models to get higher par numbers. Covers the same are as one a51 panel and lush has twice the watts and cost 4 times more. Lush lies about using custom crees. Cree doesn't make custom leds for anyone.

I just looked at the site. Its horrible. They took Cree off their site.. I personally called Cree and asked them about lush. I urged other people to do the same. I bet Cree sent a cease and desist letter. Their 650w (actual watts) panel only puts out 1100 umole/s at 12 inches. The apache and 4 a51's have higher par at 18-24 inches. Philips allstart 330 CMH puts out 1400 umole/s at 16 inches. One a51 155w panel has slightly higher par numbers than lush 650w panel
