I say its unjustified, The only resort for cops here in the US is to shoot. Why the fuck dont they teach officers martial arts? Why are 90% of officers so fucking overweight and out of shape they cant even fight their way out of a wet paper bag, And the ones that are in shape probably have roid rage which leaves a miniscule amount of sane in shape officers. Im sure all of you have seen these cops these days with fucking huge guts and meat flaps for breast, saying its the bullt proof vest that makes em look big. It is disgraceful.
Have you seen the cops in those third world countries, where some dude is holding a baby hostage with a meat cleaver to the throat of the baby. The cop drop kicks the dude saves the baby and saves the life of the psycho so everyone can take a turn beating him.
Granted that some people do deserve to get their asses shot because their uncontrollable, the cops should really change their cowardly tactics. They love to show extreme tremendous force when dealing with small idiotic matters. Cops are the biggest Drama Queens.

The police officer involved will be fired and prosecuted. I have to say, I have never been ashamed to be a member here until now. There shouldn't be any debate over this. This was not justified, not even close. That cop should be in jail for a life sentence. Let me explain this to you...
1. When somebody has a crowbar and you outnumber them and you have an attack dog YOU control the situation unless
a. You are poorly trained
b. You are scared
Both a and b disqualify you as being an officer of the law.
2. If they used a taser and it did not work they obviously did not use it correctly.
a. If they did use it correctly and it had no effect on the subject it should have been a clear indication of drug use.
3. When you need to use force and the taser does not work you use the DOG. The GUN should be the last option
4. And finally, if you have to use a gun (which was completely not needed) you don't have to unload a whole fucking clip into something ensuring that they DIE.
This guy caused NO harm to anyone and it's possible he wouldn't have. I am not a trained cop but I could EASILY disarm somebody with a crowbar and take minimal damage, especially if I had somebody backing me up. That's your job as a cop, to take risks not to take the pussy way out. Cops are not judge and fucking jury. To the other guy in this thread budlover, if you are truly an ex cop I am ashamed of you. I watched the video and feel it was an unjustified shooting BUT and a big BUT what was in the dude? to swing a "crowbar" look at the video it looks like a climbing spike but semantics. My reasoning is there are 3 or 4 officers on scene, all with tasers probably and batons AND the Dog. Hit the guy with the taser lose the muscle control release dog, run over beat the shit out of guy with baton and handcuff. Alive and bloody.

The police force across the entire US is out of touch with reality, People say dont let the few bad cops spoil it for the rest. it seems the few are OK and the rest are just raging high school homos, and their wives rule over them with an iron fist while at home so they take it out on the civilian.

Law enforcement as a whole in this country is WAY out of control. IMHO, MOST of the cops are nothing more than "privateers", a sanctioned organised crime cartel. I'm sure that some become cops out of some misguided or naive sense of being able to make a difference, but after a couple of years on the force, it has to be blatantly obvious that the majority are bad. If one still decides to be a cop at that point, even though they may not participate in any illegal/immoral activity, they are just as culpable. A lie by omission is a lie none the less.

They are "supposed" to be Public Safety Officers, trained to handle situations like that without loss of life and they do that so that we the public can be safe. How are we safe when they routinely fire on suspects, engage in high speed chases, and endanger public safety themselves?
I remember in the first and second grade learning about all the community people, one of which was "Officer Friendly". These guys are now no more than poorly trained paramilitary jack-booted thugs.

I'm a former SEAL and that was a kill that wasn't done to protect and serve THE PUBLIC.

Shits and Giggles created by the Elite class. Police are merely the stabilizing barrier between rich money whores and the poor class. Police are in the "middle class" working society. So play the game or GTFO, that's what the capitalist corporate slime Government is telling us.
10 bullets from an officer with an attack dog is way overboard. The dog could have easily taken care of the situation never mind the cops. Even if the shooting was justified and there was a genuine threat to human life how can you possibly condone 10 bullets? One, possibly two, would have been all it took.
