I think abandoned wins. You live in a big house with hella dogs. You're currently privileged. Maybe not all times in your life, but definitely now. Other people are out of work, starving. Others can't pay rent and have kids to feed.

My wife is a Cardiologist. We live in a 2 story house. For the last 2 weeks weve separated ourselves, and she goes in the upstairs, and I live downstairs with 7 dogs, and a cat. One dog is a 180lbs Turkish Kangal She takes all of her work clothes off when she gets in from work, puts them in a garbage bag, puts them on the porch for me to wash, and disinfect. She also decontaminates her shoes before going in the house. I cook all of her food for both home, and work. When shes done with the plates, untensils, and glasses she puts them in a plastic tub on the porch full of bleach, and then I wash them. I go to the store and do all shopping

My wife also only gets 1 mask per shift at the VA Hospital in Huntington Wva, and its not an N95 either. She works 3 days a week at VA, and 4 days a week at KDMC in Ashland, Ky. She has also been working in the ER at KDMC along with her Cardiac practice.

So dont tell me Im a casual observer.
You have a bad case of pussy whipped

I met my as a Pen Pal when she was working as a Caregiver in Singapore. Pen Pal book is Pacific Island Ladies. I worked 3 jobs to earn enough money to bring her here, and I waited on her for 3 years

The province of Aklan. The oldest Spanish settlement in Philippines is where she is from

She was raised all of her life living on a Bamboo hut, that had to be rebuilt every year, had to smoke the hut every night to keep out mosquitoes, no running water, no electricity, no feminine products, had to walk 1/4 mile to the river to bathe, and get water. Had to walk 3 miles each way to school on a dirt road through the jungle with Pythons, and Cobras. Had to pick fruit in the jungle to trade for pencils, and paper, and she never missed 1 day of school her whole life.

I love my wife dude, and shes been through hell in her life, and has worked harder than you could ever believe to get where she is.

When she worked in Singapore, she got 1 day a month off, and was locked in the 30th floor so she could not go anywhere. She earned $150 usd a month. They wouldnt let her eat or drink from their plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons or glasses, and they would go behind her when she cleaned with a white cloth, and if had the least amount of dirt on it, they made her do it all over.

She wasnt allowed to mop the floors, and had to scrub it on her hands and knees, most of the time 2x a day. She took care of an infant, and 1st grader. She had to cook all the meals ect, and at the end of the day they took her to their Dentist Office where she had to clean that. Both husband, and wife were dentists.

Anyone would be lucky to have found such a fine woman as my wife.
She also doesnt drink, or smoke, but doesnt care about me smoking weed. I dont drink, and we both run Marathons, and Ultra Marathons.

While Im an athiest, she is deeply religious, and gave over $15,000 to the Catholic church last year. I went to the Catholic adjacent to the church for 10 years. She also goes and lights a candle at the church almost daily to pray for people

I love my wife dude. Im 61, and shes 46, and shes the best thing that ever happened to me. I payed for her first year in college, and she did so well after that she got so many free grants, and aard money because of her grades, she basically got a free ride all through med school. She graduated #1 in her class, and has a Dual PHD. Cardiology, and Neurology, with a Masters in Chemistry.

Someone made a disparaging remark about what my wife went through, and I told them what I do. Doing all the housework being one of them.... Get over it. Dont read it.

Must be nice to sit around smoking weed all day casually observing a crisis whilst bragging about athleticism. I’d love to hang and get high but I’ve got to work damn it

On that note, I get why everyone hates this thread so much.

They're actually getting paid twel-hunnit and free rent for the month of april in 2020 (4/20) with weed and groceries delivered, just to stay home.

They just don't want me fucking it up.

The biggest obstacle to reopening the economy is not testing, its fear of death and serious illness by those over fifty. 86% of the population support lockdowns, this illustrates the fear factor with this asymptomatic (for many) contagion. It's like playing Russian roulette and the older you are the rounds in the revolver. Effective treatments could shake up this dynamic considerably over the next few months by removing much of the fear. No government can order the economy back up and running, people make that call for the most part.

This also explains why the curve has not been flattening as expected, the young and the horny.

We are going to get just one chance at bringing the death rate down to a manageable level and keeping it there while we open up to a world with the virus and no vaccine. It isn't a matter of fear but a steady hand at the wheel that explains why lockdowns remain in place for now. We need a test and management system in place before we do.
Yep, PCR and serological tests, I do believe though that treatments will mitigate this disaster and change the dynamic. We will know more within a week about two approaches, a very promising drug and convalescent plasma transfusions, all of these NPI discussions are not taking the dynamic nature of the problem into account. After next week I expect the nature of the conversation will change, depending of the results of a drug trial that will be released soon. I'm locked down anyway, so what's another week while waiting for hope. Remove the terror with effective treatments to lower the mortality rate and dramatically reduce hospital resource requirements, then the rules can change, more so with proper testing.

I'm a realist, but I have good cause for optimism, even dumb Donald will be all over a treatment that actually works and will drive it forward ASAP.
