My very first grow room

Woohoohooooooo and more wooo; I just came into a yummy variety of seeds for future growing. Other than the SensiStar and the Skunk seeds i got last week, I know also have the following: Lemon Haze F2 Hybrid, Pineapple Chunk + Afghan Gold, Michigan Lavender, Northern Berry( NL + BB ), Red Diezel, and finally a bag of mixed mystery seeds. Looks like the coming months are going to be filled with the joy of growing and tasting some good buds. :)

where did you score the seeds? F2 are notoriously inconsistent. you could literally have 3' tall plants, and 6' tall plants come from the "same" variety. same goes for potency - it's a crap shoot. That's not to say you won't find anything good. lemon haze sounds like someone planted greenhouse seed's super lemon haze and pollinated one of their plants.

This is the perfect opportunity to grow sea of green style. 4 plants per square foot, in 6" pots, 5 x 8 plants (40 total) and start the seeds with 12 hours of light. you'll have a rainbow of bud in under 90 days :D

A contact from the US, had a contest and I was one of the lucky winners. Not sure how I will work with them, which ones to try next, etc, but I have some time since I'm still on this grow cycle with my Headband and bag seed crop. I'll look into how to go about a SOG, I don't have any practical knowledge of it other than having read one or two articles. Am expecting another shipment, this time of P-Haze seeds.

Somebody know a doctor who would sign mmra forms in the greater Toronto, Canada area ? Was just diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and maybe even emphysema.

I'm hesitating in deciding when to start the 12/12 light cycle for flowering. I've got one plant standing at 13 inches, one at 11, three at 10 and my runt of the litter at 7-8 inches. Should I wait a little longer still ?

I would guess that your plants will stretch 1.5-2x...so flower based on that. I believe that six, 2' tall plants, would be pushing it for one 600w light. Try to flower when they're between 12" and no more than 16"; don't wait for the runt to catch up. so that means flower them within a few days :D get the shorter ones up on blocks so that the all tops are at the same height, and getting the same amount of light. hth

Hi Crysmatic, you come through as usual, thank you for the very common sense approach to this. Yes, I think I'll begin 12/12 today or tomorrow as the shortest is now 8 inches and the tallest is 13 inches ... hehehe, will use blocks for the smaller one. Other four plants are 10 and 11 inches so acceptable for sure. Don't want them too big this time around, with only one 600w light.

I'm excited for you to flip them to 12/12!! You've come such a long way aha. What seeds you thinking of running next? You should try taking clones of your headband just in case you want to run the strain again after this grow is finished. Will save you time in veg as well.

Hi SteezyDee, I'd like to make some Headband clones but due to the fact that I'm having the whole room ( 11' x 12' ) designed as a grow space, I fear it would be for nothing this time around. I have so many choice of seeds that I'm at a loss for now but maybe a couple of Pineapple Chunk, maybe some Lavender as well as Skunk ... that Red Diezel and the Sensi Star are tempting as well. :)
Tomorrow is flip time for my plants ( after 34 days from seedlings ). :D

I understand your thought logic here but you could be wrong if that headband has a great gene in it is some kill you may regret not grabbing a clip it has happened to my friend. Just a little thought I would give you not saying you have to do it you just ma even want to start to practice up that you can root clones good before you actually need to (which is what I did glad I did also first run was horrible only 3 rooted out of 10 but 2nd run at least half so I'm learning ) anyway your girls looks great glad to see your onto the 2nd half of this process soon enough will be chop and then cure time then we get to hear how it was for you :D :weed:

Merry Christmas!

I wouldn't worry about cloning the headband. It's a common clone around toronto. If you get your card, the compassion center has a decent selection.

Hi AnonBongRip, just won't be in a position to do it this time around, as soon as I harvest this crop ( end of february +- ), I'm having the whole cardboard grow space taken down and scrapped, then the room in which it was in will be converted in it's entirety to growing ( means more lights, fans, a grow cabinet just for clones and seedlings, painting of walls white, etc. ) which is going to be a lot of work. The fun part will be that I'll end up with the ability to have both clones and 0r seedlings vegging in the cabinet as I have other plants flowering and that means a constant flow of weed cultivation year round. It's a fact ( like Crysmatic mentioned ) that I can access clones from compassion centers locally and Headband is one strain much in favor around here and available. :)

My feelings are, if you can find a keeper out of a single pack, then you can always find a keeper in the next pack. You can always take clones in the future, no big deal.

Oh, I wanted to take clones from my Headband plants but I'm just not set up properly this time around ... a fun addition is that I received a nice sampling of well identified seeds and will have lots of fun seeing how they end up growing in the future full sized ( 11' x 12 ' ) grow room. I'd love to bring things to where I'm growing as many flowering plants as I can plus the same number in the veg cabinet ( not sure exactly how many but certainly between 12 and 20 ). :weed:

Ummm, keeping a very close eye on the plants since this morning, seems I may have 2 males but it's still quite early on and I want to be absolutely sure before I pull them out. This is the surprise of bag seeds ... you never know what you'll get, lol. :)

Well, I got rid of the two male plants as they were clearly showing their sex and I don't want them to pollinate the females.

Also discovered that my pots just aren't going to do the trick, they are too small ( 1 to 1.5 gallon pots ) so in a bit, I'm transplanting them into larger pots, no choice, I'm seeing the knot of the roots, where root base becomes the stem.
