Soak/rinse in luke warm water after you cut them up (no thinner than half an inch). Dry on/with paper towel. Fry at 285-290f for 4-5min depending on thickness, remove let it drain/drip, rest, cool off even, for 30min. Then fry at 370-375f for ~5min depending on the type of potato. Typical way to do it in NL with potatoes that crumble easily.Whats your say about home made fries? Garden potatoes are ready,will try some deep fry soon.
In the past Ive used sunflower oil,its what I had.Normally I fry for a couple minutes take out let rest then finish.

take @Sativied 's advice. nothing better than fresh belgian/dutch fries. and mayo and ketchup.Whats your say about home made fries? Garden potatoes are ready,will try some deep fry soon.
