Doctors are highly trained specialists with a broad education, most believe as you do that colleagues who are odds with the public health program of vaccination are irresponsible. Yet they went to the same lectures and did the same exams, but they have what seems to be polar opposite views to accepted science. If you frame the debate in a binary landscape, ie doctors sane vs doctors insane then you will probably miss the reason they hold different views. It’s this difference which is interesting. I don’t think the argument that they are stupid really holds much weight.
I agree that my use of the word “stupid” was flippant and acknowledge the definition of the word is subjective. The word “Irresponsible”, that you used would have been a better choice.

Having said that, my post was a one sentence response to someone claiming vaccines are a form of government control. While some doctors may irresponsibly believe that too, they’ve obviously been influenced by something other than their education. Since we agree this is a small number, I stand by the point I was attempting to make in my original post.

Mass vaccinations are the government’s attempt to control the spread of the virus and to control the incidence, morbidity and mortality of the disease in the population, so it’s not irrational to believe they are a form of “government control”

Fair enough but I’ve been posting here long enough for you to know brevity is not my strongest quality.

Well kids are mandatorily vaccinated against a host of horrible diseases we no longer hear about and the education system itself is a form of "government control". It's only a concern for those who's "culture" is at odds with the larger community in a liberal democracy. I don't mean their religion either, most religions are or can be prosocial and operate in liberal democracies, I mean their prejudices, sometimes reified by their local culture or families. People instinctively cling to their cultures ( or perceived ones) like their lives, it is an instinctive propensity in humans. 100,000 years ago culture contained our language, mythologies and survival skills and was defended by clans and tribes against other humans. That's why the culture wars are important to republicans, it triggers instinctive propensities in people and tribalizes them. When people are tribalized they can loose empathy for the "other", the enemy, that makes it easier to kill them.

Only anarcho-solipsists believe that government control is always bad.

When the republic was healthy, the control was mutual but unequal. It controls us mostly via legislation, we control it by voting bad or faithless (Manchin!) representatives out. That system needs shoring up, and that means the non-traitriots need to have a plan for holding on in ‘22 and then really swinging for ‘24.

I expect RobRoy will be along any minute, now that we’ve chummed up the waters.
Rob needs to read some Plato, he was big on the state vs individual and the duties of the individual to the state. In small isolated communities they ostracize or kill the antisocial who cause harm to the community, things are direct, no bullshit. We have antisocial personalities of various sorts and causes, some are brain damaged and guess where they all end up in America? Yep they are republicans and libertarians, who aren't libertarian, but greedy and antisocial anarchists. They have enemies on a visceral level and they won't form a sharing community with the enemy, enemies are to be defeated and killed in a zero sum war.

i know you're not surprised at what goes into fragrance; i worked at a company where we did Fragrance Marketing..the nice smell when you walk into a hotel; in the mix was the musk of many animals. The US Army was a customer and we supplied them also with fragrance of war- sad to think of but new soldiers had to get used to it before going into combat. we even had cannabis, i guess to teach police canine not sure why you'd want your room to smell like weed.
