Look it up yourself. It's due to O'Bama's administration that wait times have decreased.
WHo said wait times were long? Not me, that was Baddog and ink the world who said that. Misplaced animosity Carne? Hell you don't even know what you are arguing about. We are arguing over how long the wait times are, not who is responsible for them decreasing. Pay attention!!

Those are my patients, I didn't mention others I know including my mother. Took my mom close to 2 years. My best friend has been waiting for 7 months now.

Your friends experience wasn't typical compared to every person on disability I've ever known.

Crazy, that gal I know gets over $900 a month and is single with no children.
Patient B is a single guy with no kids. He gets just under $1,000 a month.

I'm not in the system so I'm not sure, but isn't previous income tied into a formula for benefits?

Yes.

My sister-in-law was a housewife. She had a few jobs before she met and married my brother. He died of a massive heart attack. We scrambled to get her on disability. Meanwhile their home was foreclosed on and they had to move out. No income whatsoever. We split the kids up. I have one nephew living here and an older one that I take back and forth to a neighboring state where he lives with a relative and works there. I bring him home each weekend to spend time with his mother. She has MS and is wheelchair bound. Now she gets the 400 dollars and most of that goes to treatment and medication.

Its based on what you paid into it and for how long, its insurance.

I know someone who died while fighting social security for benefits, makes my blood boil when these idiot right wingers try to make it sound like every person out there is faking a disability and they get it in record time.

This has only recently happened?

I find it odd she doesn't get survivor benefits, must be a special case.

Riiight... a "special case" like Ink's special cases. They're all "special cases" if they don't fit into your narrative.

So she has only been on disability for a short while and you make it out to be the end of the world. No one really gives a shit.

I also find it strange she didn't qualify for medicare a & B either, or medication assistance. Very odd since most people who are on disability also qualify for those. Husband dies, no survivor benefits, gets disability, bur since her husband never made any money in his life ( Its based on spousal earnings too, not just yourself) she only gets a measly $400 and doesn't qualify for anything else.

If I didn't know better I would say you were telling quite the yarn there.

There is a 2 year waiting period for Medicare if approved for ssd, but there are exceptions.

no, you AUTOMATICALLY get medicare after 2 years, but you can sure as hell apply for it right away. That gal I know got medicare, medicaid, prescription benefits and gets $970 a month and works a job to boot. Disabled people are allowed to make about $1000 a month without it affecting their benefits in any way.

Of course if your part of Carne Seca's family they only give you half the benefit and screw you on the rest of it.

I am unconvinced that this isn't a colossally ungracious post. Carne described his sister-in-law's bind and you say "nobody gives a shit". It would not cost you a thing to show some compassion. cn
