Gr33n...

1) The plants look stellar.
2) We have the same lighter! The camera flash kinda screwed with the color, but aside from yours having a safety (ick) they're the same. +rep...or maybe not since you have a safety on yours. We'll see.

LonghornFan...

I wanna see your monster!! Umm...the plant.

Hah! nice lighter. good pic lol. Thanks for the rep!

I decided I want big plants and want to increase my yield so I switched to 5 gallon buckets. I got 2 air pumps pumping 5 airstones, I'm gonna get a bigger air pump soon, and get a 400w hps light.

So far there diggin the buckets.
I have a weird mutant plant that has up to 9 pedals per leaf. It also has some discoloring. IDK.

lights: 100w hps, 2 2' T5's, and 2 "U" Shaped fluorescents 6500k.

Got rid of the runt and got 5 going pretty strong...

PICS!

Gr33n,

I am going to do the same thing. I ordered a 600w HPS today and I am going out to get my buckets, more pumps, and more airstones here in a bit. Seems the girls are all bunched up in the tubs!! After seeing what you did and Roseman's suggestion, that has to be the ideal solution in my opinion. Also purchased my portable A/C unit today to get this room down to about 60 degrees so the inside of my cabinet will be in the 70's with my new light...We are still in the race!!!

Longhorn,
YES! that sounds awesome. I was worried you were gonna think I was cheating or something lol. Hell yah man buckets are the way to go i think. I have 2 airpumps like the ones that come with the SH setup and they barely push enough air into the 5 buckets. I recomend you get a very strong air pump. maybe 2?

600w hps?! what? now your tryin to show ME up! haha Im going to upgrade eventually.

THE RACE CONTINUES! :bigjoint:

:peace:

haha, yah my camera has video mode. i guess the video is a bit overkill. lol. :dunce:

They are lookin nice and healthy. Damn, that big one of yours sure took off, that thing is a monster. You should be gettin some monster buds off her.:-P
I really hate to be negative, but I need to tell you guys something.......
I've done this a dozen times and 99% of all time, the MONSTER plants, the ones that jump ahead and grow faster and taller than the others, almost always turn out to be males; meaning NO buds at all.
AND, ofen a runt can and does catch up, around the 4th or 5th week. BUT, more times than not, it stays a runt. If you have a runt, watch it closely to see if it is going to be a short one stalk runt, or if it will have many branches, like the pic at my signature.
Maybe the flow tube is not feeding it well, and when the roots hit the dep water, it will take off and catch up. But maybe it IS A RUNT Geneticallyl and nothing will help it.

I wish I had the cash to do what you two are doing dammit :hump:

Maybe Gr33n's mutant will devour LonghornFan's monster!
$9 bucket and lid, a cheap air pump and air stone is $15 more =$24 total so far. WATER PUMP and tube is about $20 more = $44. A few $10 CFLs from Lowes or Home Depot, (or $15 with the reflectors) and you got it, you can put two plants in one five gallon bucket. You can buy grow cups for 25 cents each, or DIY home made ones with a plastic cup. Use a piece of sponge for the cube and some gravel for the hydrton rocks.
it is primitive, but I saw a lady that used to be here, KindPrincess, do it and grow big plants. She had pics here too.
For the price of half an oz, you can grow 3 or 4 ounces your first grow. After the first one, it's cheaper.

ALGAE?
You need to find out why?
Is LIGHT GETTING INTO THE BUCKET OR TANK?
I use one teaspoon of hydrogen peroixide to each gallon of wate, AFTER I flush and replinish the tank..

Rose,

I realize it is not fool proof, but I purchased all fem seeds so I am crossing my fingers I don't end up with the hermies....Everything looks real well right now. I hooked up my a/c unit tonight so the temps should be nice and low. It never got about 82 in my grow cabinet but I want it to never get over 78. So I had to go out and get the unit. I also ordered a 600w light today that will be here on Friday or Monday. All my buckets are good to go...Camouflage is what I got...that way nobody sees them..haha. I also got pumps and airstones for each bucket. Each bucket has a double pump and two 14" airstones. Should be enough air, cool temps, and light. The light comes with both bulbs so I want to see how those work. What do you guys think? Ohh..Rose?? Have you always stayed on Stealths nutes?

hey roseman, you still workin for stealth hydro?
I'm still getting discounts and free nutrients to do technical writing for them. I wrote the CDs and Manuals and FAQ for them and they gave me freebies. I've never been paid one penny and am not an employee or salesman for them, like many iqnorant people claim to know.

Rose,

Rose?? Have you always stayed on Stealths nutes?

Longhorn

No, I did some experiments with some organic nutes nd some liquid nutes, but SH gives me free nutes monthly to do the newsletter for them. I often use them, and ocasionallly I give them away.

I was gonna switch to RO, but then i switched to five 5gal buckets and getting 20 gallons of RO water a week would be a pain in the ass. I could do it i guess, but I dont know...

What is the PH of your tap water? I don't use anything but my tap water. I, like you, think buying all that water is a pain in the ass....

Here are the bucket pics. The light is supposed to be here tomorrow or Monday. Hoping tomorrow!!

PH is always a little over 6.5. I just filled up containers with regular tap water, their nutes, and I let them fly. So far no problems.

Check out the buckets!!!!
