Pablo's Socal Balcony Grow

Thanks Big, yep I've still got all those strains from my recent order so next season will be another adventure. Let me know if you start another journal. Cheers.

Today I dug thru the budworm damage in 2 of the Kandy Kush buds. I haven't been able to locate any worm, which worries me a bit. They either evaded my needle nose pliers, or the BT killed them. Damage is minimal and given last years disaster, acceptable. I will happily donate 2 buds to the budworm gods if the rest of the plant is unharmed. Pics 1 and 2 are of the damaged bud. Those buds are filling in and very gooey.

Kush was watered with Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. And found a 3rd budworm damaged bud. Shit's starting to piss me off. BT is worthless. I think.

Thanks Parsley. I'll do everything I can to let the Budworm Kush finish up. Here's the Diesel Ryder at day 64. Very close to harvest time.

If it makes you feel any better, i have already lost half a plant to mold/bud rot caused by those assholes. So I share your pain.

Yeah, I follow your grow and recall you mentioning having them. It's tempting to be even more annoyed than I am, but what's the point. Last season I didn't even know what they were until it was too late. This year, I was more prepared but underestimated how soon to start using the BT. I'm guessing the damage I'm complaining about was done by that initial round of eggs I saw, which prompted me to spray BT for the 1st time. I recall them landing later in the season last year, but that's probably because I had no reason to be looking for them earlier.

I just checked, it was August 13 and 14 when I first found eggs on my buds. So approximately one month later, I've got the outward, visible signs of the damage. That's probably about right. It would take awhile for the insides of the eaten bud and worm shit to decay and spread outward. Given the amount of eggs I removed (10 - 20?) it could definitely be worse. No surprise I missed a few.

Pablo those Kandy Kush nugs are looking absolutely mouthwatering!!
And of course Diesel Ryder looks danky too. Good work mate, looking forward to some harvest shots :)
...and it's not letting me give you rep, but trust me, I would if I could. I guess you'll have to wait until harvest, haha.

Thank you King. I should probably harvest the Diesel Ryder today.

About the Kush: Is it possible that I just have moldy buds? So far I haven't found the actual worms causing the damage - which is different from what I've experienced in the past. I will cut out a damaged part, examine the following day and in some cases find a bit more mold like substance. The plant appears further along in flowering than I initially guessed which is good. I'm thinking about removing the affected buds and letting the rest mature.

Oh, and I noticed that you did rep me - thanks! I just never understood exactly what the rep system is for. It's not helping me out with this friggin' Kush plant :)

Pics of the Kush. Got some pics of the darkish and grey fuzzy stuff too. I'm leaning toward removing those particular buds and seeing if any part of them can be saved.

Diesel Ryder was harvested at day 67. Very pungent aroma. I think I'm gonna like this strain. This plant never had a single problem with bugs. Not sure if it has to do with the strain, or that it is later in the year, or just random luck.

Looking good man. I've always wanted to grow that Diesel Ryder. I remember when it came out and everyone snatched it up and it was out of stock for a long time. How's it smel? The description says it's a very strong odor and a pretty strong buzz. The Kandy's looking good. How's she smell, sweet? Cheers man.

I had the same exact stuff on my outdoor indica pablo, I think it was mold, because the buds themselves did not look affected by the worms. Lately it has been so humid here, that with the additonal BT sprayings, the plant never got to completey dry out, causing the mold to grow. She was so compact that the moisture just sat there day in and day out, causing the mold. I ended up chopping off all affected areas, plus any surrounding foliage/buds.
