One more thing...
Teenagers are going to do whatever the hell they want. Don't believe it? Try raising some. As parents, our obligation is to do our best by instilling them with a set of moral and ethical values that "hopefully" will "stick". And they generally do...but only after their rebellious years. Raising teenagers is not easy and if a teen goes astray, it is not necessarily, IMO, a reflection upon the parent. By the time they are teens, they are fully capable, in a cognitive sense, to make decisions for themselves.
My son was no Saint. Neither was I as a teen. He drank, he smoked, he fucked girls. Now he's 22 and he's beginning to fully assimilate some of the "stuff" I tried to instill into him. He's now productive, serving his country, has a family, has goals, and he keeps his nose clean. He still does stupid shit from time to time, but don't we all?
If Palin's daughter is pregnant...so what? How is that a reflection on her? If Bill Clinton got a blow job in the Oval Office (I challenge anyone to view my previous post and see if I ever questioned his integrity with regard to this subject...I've always criticized his signing of bills and never his indiscretions), how is that a reflection on his parents? If JFK fucked Marilyn Monroe in the Oval Office, how is that a reflection on his parents?
I'm an effective manager that employs over a dozen techs. My men all believe that I'm one of the fairest managers they've ever had. Would that change if my son happened to knock up a girl a few years back?
Some of you need to try raising teenagers....Walk a mile in my shoes and see what it's like. It ain't easy.
