I think the only requirement is that it be 16oz. Should be cool to see a grow in a styrofoam cup...

still waiting on my clones to root.
how much longer must i wait?!
i might try to veg them a bit under this 23W lamp on my desk, just a for a few days, to give them a chance to settle in, once i transplant to party cups, then to my flowering tent.
oh and i'll probably top them the day they go into flower, 4 cola'd pary cups here i come!!

Man what a shame, I was planning on doing another party cup grow with 10 or so plants but I found some 32oz cups at the store and picked those up instead. 16oz doesn't leave you much room for roots if you don't 12/12 from seed. Should be interesting to see how all of these turn out in comparison to my grow with double the volume.
I see a lot of people in the update thread are already pretty low on soil, its always a good idea to keep filling the cup up with more soil as the water pushes it down so you can maximize the space for roots.

Yes 400 I believe in maximizing my potential in whatever i do, more choices means more possabilities. I started a new grow journal following these strains if you wanna see where they will end up. The link is in my signature.
Im pretty interested in trying autoflower strains I just dont know where i would aquire the seeds. I entered this contest for fun and when i saw a prize then i jumped right in.

ive vegged in 24 oz cups for a full month w/o issue. a week after i transplanted they took right off!!!

Yea, you definitely ran out of space, but it doesn't look like your plant had any trouble while rootbound, some strains are really fickle when they get rootbound

Looks rootbound to me, you have an entire wall of roots all around the outside of the rootmass.

First off, you have nothing to compare this to, so how could you possibly know if the growth was stunted or not? I can guarantee you it would have been bigger had you transplanted into a larger container.

If you had tried to transplant that thing after with a rootmass like that you would have run into some problems.
