Just trying to do my part on RIU, don't wanna come in here and after a few months think I can run the place or anything. I was also able to spend so much time doing this today because I got all my homecare things I needed done yesterday, was finally a sunny day here so I took advantage of that, today was rainy so I stayed inside and continue to blaze it up.
Same here. But i gotta got do mine. So, i will catch ya on the flipside. And keep up the good work. One person at a time. We can turn it around. As was said before^^^^ you can't moderate the posts, unless you moderate the poster. But i prefer trying to hash it out rather than QUICKLY banning someone. Obviously if guy pops up with 2 posts saying "Where can I get weed?", instant, unrevocable perma-ban. Otherwise you endanger the community.
Everyone needs to get over their EGO. After all, when someone curses at you, why are you REALLY upset about it? Did it hurt you physically? No. Mentally? Not likely. Emotionally, well for most people today this is where it DOES matter. The EGO. Me. I.
Notice i do my best to NOT capitalize the letter i? While speaking of the importance of good communication skills? Well, i know YOU do, but others may not. SO, it is because the very act of capitalizing the letter i serves to inflate the EGO of man. i see this as one of the largest contributing factor in the downfall of society. When one can take his EGO out of a situation and replace it with a logical mind,
I becomes i.
THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is my philosophy on how to be able to live a life that is totally detached from this world. As the sadhus of Nepal say, "Live ON this world, not IN this world."
Once you can TRULY wrap your mind around that single statement, i believe you can live a life devoid not of all strife, hunger, pain, and suffering, but it won't HURT you. Because when your "feelings" get hurt? That's your EGO. And if you take your EGO away, while the constant bickering, rat-race, violence, etc. will still HIT your SOUL, but souls don't feel pain, only EGOS. Think about that for a minute.
Deepak Chopra once said:
"If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up.”
i have followed this for the last six weeks or so. And while i am in the most financially secure position i have EVER been in in my life, unemployed, have a sister stealing scripts from 72year old mom(ARGHHHHhhhhh. Family makes this a difficult philosophy. Well, Mom anyways), refused work for being under educated or over qualified? i am more at peace than at any other time in my life.
i believe in God, but that will have to wait for another post, maybe after i do laundry.
And thank you LostReef. And keep up the good work.
