Pickle's First Grow (Sorta)

Things are going good, only a few left in small pots, I should have picked up 2 bags of dirt instead of just one.

I noticed a bit of leaf tips, on the ones moved to the tent, were curling a bit down, I'll be checking them later today. I think its because of the temp change and the drastic change in light. I moved the fan and added a few frozen 2 liter bottles into the room and dropped the temp a bit, and today was alot colder than yesterday so we'll see how things go.

Under the flourecent area I left one pair of plants further away to see how much stretching there would be, as you can see in one of the pictures of in my previous post.

I had to laugh when i noticed I uploaded a picture of the cat. More pictures to come, later today/tomorrow.

Any suggestions on a fan for the inside of a 3 x 3 x 6 tent (rough dimentions not sure the exact off the top of my head)? Greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the cause I think its the change in temp. with the HPS it went from 72F to 82F, and she/he got kinda close so i moved them further away.

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks, just wish i could fast forward to see what is what. I tried to take a picture of what looks like a hair on the mutant, but it didn't come out in the picture. Its week 5 since mutant broke dirt today. I switched to a 20/4 cycle, and will start 18/6 on monday and hoping for a 12/12 by friday of next week.

sounds like a plan keep up the good work.

Peace.

Thanks, things going very well. It looks as if mutant and another are female still waiting it out to see how things go. 20/4 seems to be going well.

On with the pictures....

As you can see mutant towers over everything. Dunno if you can make it out, but looks like hairs in the last two photo's i took one through a old magnifier lens i had around the house.

Also the one in the front orange smaller pot is showing it seems as well, figures it's one of the ones I didn't get around to transplanting.

Well I have noticed a few more hairs on a couple of the others, so far 4 possible females, still waiting a little longer to keep an eye out for hermie's.

Things are looking well, and i swap'd a few of the lanky ones under the HPS and put some of the bushy ones back under the flouro's.

I can see summer heat is going to be a problem in the room so I am working on a ventilation system, or some sort of a/c cooling depending.

Pictures will be up later.

Well i guess curly got supercrop'd by accident, the cardboard I had use to enclose the flouro's fell onto the top of curly and basically supercrop'd her. I moved her back under the 400 watt HPS, to see how she reacts.

Lots of hairs peeking on the lanky girl, no signs of hermie on her. Mutant is showing alot of hairs, and no signs of male pre-flowers, which is a bonus.

Still no signs on delores, she is getting really bushyyyyyyyyyyy, couldn't really get any good pictures. I'll try to get some today.

Well things got moved around in the room last night. I added another pair of flouro's t12's to the flouro area. I put the one lanky girl, mutant and delores in the tent under the HPS by themselves, being mutant was so large. Curly sprung right back up after having a large piece of cardboard dropped on her. The only way you can tell is by looking at the main stem and see the bend. I was very happy to see that, shows she's strong I guess. I really hope mutant doesn't hermie its looking so well, and soooo much bigger than the rest. I have yet to see any male flowers on it, all i see is hairs sticking out here and there.

I will be trying to clone some side branches off mutant probably this evening I picked up some CloneEX for the clone tank yesterday and another bag of ocean forest, and a timer for the clone tank.

I was going to transplant all the lanky plants from the small orange pots, but by the time I got done moving things around it was 3am.

Below you can see the lanky girl, mutant, and delores in the tent.

Well I didn't make it to the room yesterday and can't till 6-7pm tonight. I left the tent on 20/4 and the plants under the flouro's on 24/0, to tighten up some of the stretchy smaller ones.

It will be clone night, i ran across clones of ak-47 and some others I will be looking into this evening. It will be nice to have some known genetics in the room. I'm still concerned with hermies from some of the bag seed.

I am still very up in the air about nutes. I haven't fed them anything but what was in the the FFOF. Once a few clones are ready they will not be in dirt, and using either DWC or Aero buckets. I been doing alot of reading and was thinking about using Fox Farm nutes, for soil and hydro, but after some reading they dont' seem to work out for most people and they end up using something else. I also have been thinking alot about the cloner, the timer I have for the cloner is 30 min intervals, and I'm not sure what time cycle I want to use on the cloner yet, and top of that do I put the bottom of the stem at the bottom of the net pot, or half way down into the hydroton, or would i be better off with no hydroton, and using neoprene collars, that being said I might just go pick up a few collars to do my own side by side unless I get some feedback on here.

I am hoping the cloner is up to par, I've tested sprayers and what not in it, but have yet to put anything into it, and clone with some light above it.

I'm using General Hydroponics nutes and they've been working out well for me so far. Also I just tried my hand at cloning last week. Today is day 7 in a bubble cloner and I'm getting roots already. I'm using the neoprene collars and they seem to be working out real nice. I can't comment on the other methods because this is the only thing I've tried.

Peace.

Well temp with lights on was a nice 75.5F, it was alot cooler outside today. I think taking the tent apart helped.

Cloner seems to doing its job, I am going to try with no top, after checking the branch I put in there, it perked up. I thought that was odd, normally they look bad before they root, we'll see what happens i took some lower leaves and took the two little branches off mutant to put into the cloner, as I transplanted it into a 10qt pot, instead of the 7qt the roots were peeking out of already. I know shouldn't replant to many times, but what can you do.

The lanky girl has been moved from the way to small pot to a 10qt as well, a nice wet drink for both, Curly was taken from a 3qt to 7qt, and has bounced back well from the cardboard hitting her in the head.

I'll try to do shots of each when I figure out whats male, mutant is causing problems being so much larger than the rest.

45 days and mutant is 26" tall. I'm not 100% on the others as far as days go being they sprouted 2-6 day period after mutant.

I haven't fed them anything but me being in there daily smoking one in there honor.

Yeah thats one of the other ones I was looking into, I thought about just doing a tea with bat guano, seaweed ect, but its not an exact science as far as I was reading.

But thanks for the advice, all input is much appreciated. :bigjoint:

Goals for the weekend,...

Get some plastic, panda film, or mylar on the framing for the side by side rooms.

Velcro and cardboard so i can make flap doors for each room.

Some sort of exhaust for each room.

Pick up a few sheets of drywall to finish off the outside wall, and the top of the side by side rooms.

Pick up another digital timer for the 12/12 cycle.

I will also seperate all plants that are showing any female preflowers, and name them girls names, so I can keep some of these straight, they will be amusing and funny.

Finish the weekend with a 18/6 light cycle, then switch whatever is mature enough to 12/12.

Topping mutant, I know its kinda late in the game to top but if she is going to double in size or so when its put under 12/12, then could I take a larger topping and clone it? I'm still up in the air on this idea, at least the reasoning is sound.

Height has been something else I been thinking about as well, the ceiling will max out at 7' 1-3/4" room dimentions are left room is roughly 4 x 5, and the other room next to it to the right is 4 x 4, I wanted to split it evenly but the heat vent in the room was in the way so i decided to block it off, instead of tearing it out and moving it which would have involved alot more work. with the light mounted a foot under that gives me a height about 6'. I am trying to use 400w hps in each room, and 6' is kinda a long way down, so I might add some 4' T5's on the sides down the road depending on how things go as they are, I only have a single 400w right now and will be placing that in the larger of the two rooms.

I inspected a few last night smelling the stem by rubbing my fingers on it, and there is a def variety of smell, mutant has a very faint smell compared to the rest of them. One of the girls has a very piney smell, and curly has a very distinct smell, citrus to almost an tart smell. One other one has a smell I can't even describe, but that one is showing no signs of anything, so I"m not sure if it will be sacrificed or not.

I'm really starting to worry that everything will be hermie, or at least a few because I have seen no male pre-flowers that i can tell of yet, I'm hoping the last few days of 18/6 and the fact that everything should be at 5-6 weeks now, that I will see at least one confirmed kill. heh

You wont see any pre flowers until you go 12-12 and then you will have to wait a week or two before they start to show their sex.

You can top right up to flower and you want to wait at least a week or two into flower before you decide to take any clones. You want to make sure that they are females fist. I don't think you want to clone any males do you?

Just trying to look out for ya man.

Peace.

I thought that to be true also, but my lanky girl and mutant both have hairs on them I had a crappy picture on here showing some of them.

Yeah I was reading more about cloning everything I read was saying pretty much what you said, as long as you give them time to heal/unstress your fine. I also said what the hell and threw a couple fan leaves in the cloner after reading it could be possible to root them, got extra spaces in the cloner anyways, and looks kinda funny with a big ole fan leaf hanging outta there. lol

I was kinda stoned and just typing away killing time till the lights came on that day. heh

Thanks for the info Dropa, all feedback is great, and btw no I dont' want to clone males.

Time for picture, crappy ones taken with my phone, i'll try to get some good ones monday.

Here's a picture when they were still under 20/4 showing what looks to me as the start of hairs and a female, its kinda hard to see, but if you look on the right hand side,...
