I'm thinking of raising the light up in my grow cabinet. I could get another six inches out of the plants that way. For now I'd have to set the pots up on the platforms again to get closer to the light (or drop the light), but I'd get a bigger harvest. Right now I have paper on the walls. I'm wondering if the fumes would hurt the plants if I slapped a coat of white paint in there? I'd be using regular interior paint like you'd use for walls. It would look a lot cleaner and brighter in there.
take the plants out till the paint dries. no plants near the wet paint

you wont regret painting though.

I'm going to go to the Goodwill and buy up some computer fans. I'm going to install at least two in this cabinet. Just a matter of WHEN I can get there. I might try some yard sales and Craig's List too. :-)

i have precisely one PSU fan drawing out of my cab. when my cab was 2.5 feet wide, 2 feet deep and just under 3 foot tall that worked just fine to keep things below 80.

now that i am about 4 foot wide and have about 600 watts in there i had to upgrade things... dropped a duct from my AC LOL

Hey, that would be great! (The computer fans I mean.)

This box is about 3'X2'X4' I think (without getting up off my stoned butt to measure). I'd like two exhaust fans only because I would like to be able to keep the door closed all the time. Right now I have to leave the front flap up or it would get WAY too hot in there. With the door open, it stays a comfortable 78 in there turning the day, maybe slightly cooler at night. Humidity ranges from around 38 to 54%. With the door closed the humidity would be more consistent I think.

I also want to build a strong filter. I'm interested in the charcoal ones but I want to construct it in such a way that there aren't tubes running out all over the place. Eventually I want to build something that looks like any other piece of furniture in the house, like this one: black box control panel_probably "the best" home hydroponic system_mother nature indoors!

(No, I don't own stock in the company, but if I could purchase one of these, I'd sure feel like I owned stock! But hey, I would do it if I could. I think that's the coolest thing.)

I knew there had to be a way to make the exhaust less obtrusive! Thanks for the idea! Now I just need to build a filter and get some computer fans. There are some broken down computers that the landlord has stored somewhere. I think I'll hit him up for some parts! lol He's the nicest old guy and I'm sure he would help a damsel in distress.

i think i am a successful cheap bastard. i have $162 into my grow (out of pocket) and have harvested 4 plants so far and have 13 in flower, a couple mothers and a gad load of babies

No pics bfg ??

That sounds like it should be a sticky
nah, it is just a typical micro grow using generic parts and not impressive other than being cheap.

also, i did cook the books a bit with the "out of pocket" caveat... having materials on hand helps ;) i started seedlings without spending a penny cause i had stuff laying around and was severely motivated.

i would guess i am still under $400 for the whole mess though... and so far have pulled 69 grams of dried bud since 4-9-08 and 8 plants due for harvest this month... which i hope to get at least 150 grams out of :D

see? i will talk an annoying amount about my grow :blsmoke:
