I just spent a half hour copying those DIY carbon filters and saving them to .pdf files. I always hate it when I find something I like and then when I want to go back there, the link doesn't work anymore. So I save them in .pdf. Then they are printable too though and small enough to send through E-mail. :-)

I think I like the second DIY filter you sent me best. Thanks!!!

I think I have $160 into mine in stuff I had to buy, including my 250w HPS light (which I bought off Craig's List for $50) and my timers. I had the fans already, had one of the lights already, had flower pots and dirt, spray bottles and humidity/temp gauges and even the box. Everything else I'm just scrounging around for. (I have quite a few things saved up for a hydro grow too but am missing a few key items.)

Tomorrow when I paint the inside of my grow box, I'll be using paint I bought over a year ago when I moved in here and brushes I've had around for a while too.

When I build a filter, I won't be having to buy much there either, I have screen, I have big hose clamps, I have an extra length of new dryer hose and lots of duct tape. lol I think I can improvise on a lot of these things.

Will look for computer fans too. I think I want two or three. Two for exhaust and one to blow. When I seal up the back I'll be able to cover it in white wood left over from another project. I love it when a plan comes together.

What are you using?

I'm thinking of trading my 40 gig portable Hard Drive for some of the stuff I need to make my grow better. I bet I could get those fans I need that way for one. :-) I'm not using the HD anyway, haven't for a long time. My son says that's not a fair trade though.

Bummer.

Son scored a FREE silk screening screen stretched in a hardwood frame and everything! Wahoo! We'll get some hash out of our first crop. (He scored the whole silk screening kit! Has everything you need to make shirts and/or other projects.

I just through my last lil bit of trim into my "pollen box" not a whole lot but I couldnt figure out what to do with the lil bits that wasnt enough for my bubble bags... I think I will throw all the trash that will inevitably in the bottom of the jars..

when i get my new cab up i will take pics of my current grow cab as i take out the false wall and migrate to the new rig.

while it is a pain in the ass i did just have a clueless guest for 2 weeks and she never caught on... w00t! (even when she was standing RIGHT next to it)

at this point, i wish i could show pics cause the triple ScrOG looks tight when they are full up :blsmoke:

i take all my grow grunge (cept the root ball) and toss it in jars and eventually make hash oil with acetone out of it... keep in mind, this is dangerous... specially if you are an impatient sort and cook the acetone off with heat.

I love the false wall thing. Way cool that no smell escaped, or light to tip her off. Maybe you could put a plug in the wall that you can pop out (from behind a picture or something) through which you could poke a camera lens?

I have the perfect grow room outside. It would be so perfect for a small room. However, I live next door to the landlord. It would have to be smell proof and noise proof as well as light tight. Is it possible? I can slip in and out easy enough, just need to be very careful. (BTW, the landlords old as the hills and probably wouldn't have a clue, but there are meter readers and things from time to time.)

I was given a method to make it that sounds pretty good. tell me what ya think.. Btw sorry for the thread jack, this is something else the tlb is known for.. anyway.. this method is to take about a ft long piece of 1' pvc cap both end, drill about 5 holes in one end and one in the other. use vector butane (100% no additives) put the butane through the hole in the cap with the one hole, and wait for the oil to drip out the other end... what ya think bfq, does that sound right?

totally possible. wont be cheap to make it silent... the big problem with an outside grow IMNHO is how to justify your going out to it often... i was thinking about an out building for a grow with some sort of critters (like rabbits) built in half the area to cover for all the time spent in the building... sounded a lot like work though :p

that is the better way to do it, but i would only use bud for that method.

the acetone soak is for everything from stems to pipe scrapings and bong droppings... needs to soak for a day to be worth a damn... would be a waste of butane.

ahh Ill probably just keep throwing this stuff in the box then.. collects enough over time to make a nice lil bit of hash.

Building is already out there. It's a storage shed. My wood pile is right there too. Not at all hard to get out there without being seen and I could make it even easier. :-) What's more, I have a circuit breaker already wired for it, just have to run the wire out there (It's rolled up in my wall by the breaker box already too), but I don't do electrical work anymore.

I'd need a roll of that black on one side, white on the other plastic, some insulation... I have a small space heater for winter... That's just about all I'd need. I have plenty of wood if I need that.
