Sarah Palin resigning as Govorner of Alaska

So now Todd Palin is a genius politician as well? He was her major advisor when she was embarrassing herself on national television. She refused advice from anyone who knew what they were talking about. Some might admire this cavalier nature, but she is NOT intelligent.

And honestly, I am highly biased against her because I can't wrap my mind around the idea that the Bible should be taken literally, which is her guiding life tenet. How can anyone possibly believe that the Bible translates literally into our everyday lives. It sets an impossible and irreconcilable standard.
1. How does Palin's belief in the Bible affect your life? You are obviously bigoted against Christians. Do you have similar problems when it comes to Jews, Muslims, Buddists and Shintos?

2. Todd Palin? Other than being a great husband and a Man's Man, he has nothing to do with Sarah Palin's success or failure as a politician.

3. In my vivid imagination, I see Todd Palin as a guest on the David Letterman show. Hell, they could put that one on pay-TV and make a fortune!

Palin's religion affects my life when she tries to enact laws based upon that religion. And don't fall down the slippery slope Vi. Just because I dislike Palin's incorporation of church into state does NOT mean I dislike Christians. At all. In fact, that's absurd logic.

My wife and I are both religious, so again, your rants just appear to be unreasonable and reliant solely upon pathos.

So ... what religious laws has Palin enacted, or tried to enact, that are affecting your life? Please list them.

1. She wants a constitutional amendment barring gay marriage due to religious reasons.

2. She is pro-censorship (which I abhor) due to religious reasons.

3. She is pro-Creationism and thinks it should be taught IN SCHOOLS due to religious reasons.

Shall I go on......?

Didn't Clinton sign DOMA into law? Didn't you vote for Clinton? Furthermore, the bill was passed by Congress by a vote of 85-14 in the Senate ahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_Marriage_Act#cite_note-0nd a vote of 342-67 in the House of Reps.

As for the rest, malarkey.
No I did not vote Clinton. I ALWAYS (prior to this last election), and I mean always, vote for third or independent parties in the presidential election. I've even voted Nader!!!! I think third parties need a fair shake and I do everything I can to support them.

And how is censorship malarkey? I am offended by intellectual censorship, which leads to creationism. All scientific evidence leads us to believe that evolution occurred, so when someone tries to change education curricula in order to push religious agenda, than I am offended. It's absolutely ludicrous. This single solitary fact (Palin wanting creationism (anti-science) in school curriculum) makes me loathe every inch of the woman.

"ALWAYS", with a caveat? How professorial. It's Obama-y, to be sure; "I love my country, BUT,".

I meant your assertions; all three, actually, are malarkey. Said to inflame, with little to no accuracy to claim. Or do you have a YouTube? Maybe a press release? Something from the White House briefing room? Or is this too passe? Proving points.

"I love my country, BUT......." are extremely healthy claims in that they allow us to reflect on ourselves as a country. I always criticize my country for what needs changed and praise it for what it does right. Clinton once said (although his speech writer conjured up the phrase), "there's nothing wrong with America that can't be fixed by what's right in America". I firmly believe this claim and think we should always strive to find the wrong so that we can fix it. Remember, patriots DO question the acts of the government.

And there is proof for my claims. Look it up. I am not interested in proving anything to you, however. These are my opinions, my thoughts. You have your opinions and thoughts. If you think one of your opinions may be wrong, you will seek proof and determine for yourself. I am not here to do it for you.

I love my mother, BUT,...

I didn't make the claim. I called bullshit on your claim. The claims you made are false. It is an opinion you have adopted, created from fanciful thoughts of self righteousness. Very professorial, as well. Maybe you are exactly what you claim, prof.:joint:

So Palin doesn't think that creationism should be taught in schools?

http://www.thelangreport.com/religion-or-lack-of/sarah-palin-wants-creationism-taught-in-school/

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/08/mccains-vp-want/

She has stated over and over that it should be allowed and once pressure was put on her after the VP selection because of this belief, she tapered off on the comments and subdued the issue. I see through the maneuvering to her actual intentions.

And Palin doesn't support censorship? I tend to believe Emmons over the spin that ensued after her firing.

And why do you continue with the professor comments? In your reality, I'm apparently not a professor. Do you realize how base you seem when you continue to call into question something that's actually true (and in no way unbelievable)? Your persistence is hard to understand.

I'd think a real professor would find better sourcing, and content, to support a claim made against the character of another. I guess THAT is what tenure is REALLY for. To cover your ass when you come across as a second rater, right? That is, if you ARE truly a professor, right?

PS- You and "Emmons" discuss this, or are you just assuming good character in this particular case?

Man, you're ridiculous. I'm done responding to you. Every single time I make a comment, instead of critiquing my ideas, you insult my person and my profession. Every frickin' time I say something, your response is "well you must be a shitty professor...." Grow the fuck up! It's irritating as hell. Attack my ides if you want, but lay off the bully tactics dude. Enough.

Again, I criticized Palin's policies and the way she treats others. I NEVER insulted her character. In fact, in previous posts, I've said quite clearly that she's probably a really nice person. I just don't like her politics! And it sickens my how people call her offensive names because she fits the beauty ideal of the US. It sickens me that people make objectify her and degrade her. However, she does deserve the blame she gets for her policies and for the way she governs.

And I will admit, sometimes I do resort to ad hominems, but not in this case. You however, have insulted my character over and over, all the while ignoring my opinions and ideas, which SHOULD be scrutinized. And I cannot for the life of me figure out why. People like you drive others away instead of inviting them in for civilized discourse. I come here for edifying discourse and to create a bountiful marketplace of ideas. You come here to insult and attack. Can you imagine how much better this forum would be if you just stopped the insults and engaged only in civilized debate? Have you thought of that? As I look through your posts regarding me, you have over 10 of them where you directly insult me and my profession. It's shameful really and quite unnecessary. Perhaps you've never reaped the benefits of healthy debate...

You don't know Palins policies. You know only the rumors you heard, and believed. Professor?

Professors quote, "This single solitary fact (Palin wanting creationism (anti-science) in school curriculum) makes me loathe every inch of the woman."

Did you even read your links claims? Having read and digested these links claims, do you regret your "loathing" position?

I pass. Palin is no longer governor and she's done with politics, so I couldn't give two shits. I hope she gets the 7 digit book deal and makes loads of money on the tour. I wish her riches and fame. Whatever makes her happy. There are no more policies coming from her and nothing more to debate. I refuse to debase myself by chatting about pop-culture icons and reality TV stars, so Palin is no longer fodder.
