Hi morp, good to see how your low turned out. About an ounce ey, not bad. What height was she at the end?
Mine was smooth and tasty too. Got another one just about ready to start flushing now, let you know how she turns out.

cheers chaps. the lr2 ended up around 1.5' greenthumbs.. been curing for a week and it tastes realy nice and smooth. not the strongest though..

i chopped my thai sativa down yesterday as i was moving house. i have it hung in the cellar at the moment but the humidity seems a bit too high. im running all over the house trying to find a less humid zone... anyways, ill post pics soon when i find a suitable location..

good growing all!

okay, the thai bud is about dry now. the final weight was 38.5g. smoked a couple of joints but still quite harsh. going to need a long cure this one i reckon... buds arent as dense as the lr2, which shows the genetic differences, but also the fact that it could of done with a while longer in flower. all in all, was fun to grow as i gathered the seeds myself and 3 years later have gathered a niceish harvest..
not the easiest strain to grow, was very responsive to feedings and didnt like much at all. takes an age to flower and grows pretty tall.
however, the smell of the buds is really unique, very heavy and perfumey, not the typical skunky smell at all. despite my growing problems with this strain, ive enjoyed every minute of it and its definately brought out the sativa in me. im now looking forward to trying out ACE seeds' nepjams as soon as i can get my hands on some, and also a few other pure landrace strains such as afghani #1...

good times a comin! ill get pics soon.

update on current movements:

5 lowryder #2s
3 skunk mix from seedsman
2 white russians

the white russians were from 5 year old seeds. only 2 germinated, and very oddly, the root came out of the soil, leaving the shell and leaves under. i had to very carefully extract and plant the little buggers. one has its first leaves but seems to be hardly growing, and the other is still just trying to straighten up. i had high hopes when i found these seeds but its not looking too promising..

other than that im going to try making some hash (maybe tomorrow) from my leaf clippings and a couple of thai buds. depending on how the white russians fare, i think ill also get some hashberry seeds to try. really looking forward to it!

good growing guys

bought a couple of bubblebags for £25. not the official brand, but hopefully they should still work. didnt come with instructions either so im just trying to figure them out.

i have no idea how many microns each of the screens is, the guy in the shop knew even less. anyone got any suggestions on how to use them? one of the screens is fairly see-through, where as the other screen is stiffer and less see-through. my question is basically which one do i put inside the other? do i want the see-throughish screen inside the thicker screen, or visa versa?

any ideas much appreciated

place the coarsest mesh bag on top..everything bag below that should get smaller and smaller so as the water passes through it collects the trichs in stages.

Not sure if you have em there..but here you can buy another bag at a paint store that is 5 gallons and is used to strain paint before it goes in a paint spray gun. These work well as the first catch....taking out a lot of the coarsest material.

good luck

That is a good price for the bags. Where did you get em, Morp?

cheers btdt, i was gonna give it a go this afternoon but ive been real busy with work, maybe ill give it a go tonight. think ive identified the finer mesh, which ill place in the bucket first, with the other, coarser bag inside it. because there're only 2 screens, there wont be any different grades of hash, with the coarser screen just holding back the general crap, and the finer screen hopefully catching all the trichs... we shall see.

plato, i got the bags from a head shop near where i live. i spotted some 'ice-o-lator' bags in another local head shop which were £35, and seem a bit more 'official' than the set i bought. however, they all seemed much of a muchness, mine just dont have any brand names on them (or any indication of the micron density).

pm me if youre interested and ill dig up the address of the stockist...

Coffee filter would not let the bigger particles through.
Now there are screen reusable filters for coffee machines.

He needs some sort of silk screen.

You might could check with local craft shops and pick some up.
This would allow you to make more bags.
The only thing else you would need would be some kinda canvas and someone to sew it together.

for those of you interested, my thai lady is still in flowering. i have been advised to cut the light hours down to 14/10 rather than 12/12 to speed the process a little, so that is what ive done. hopefully this will allow at least a little more maturation before her untimely execution...

ill try get some pics later

This light schedule. Is it supposed to help buds bulk up? and is it 14 on or 14 off?

Hell would not even have to be a bag.
The last catch could just be a screen in a frame over a bucket.
cheers for the input midgrade. hopefully the finer of the two bag sceens is fine enough for the last catch. if not, then the hashywater will run into my clean new bucket, and ill just have to skim it when its settled.. ill let you know how it goes tomorrow

14 off 10 on. this lighting schedule promotes faster maturation, but at the cost of bud size. i only used this because i was short on time and had to move house. the strain involved was a pure thai sativa which could take anything from 10-24 weeks to flower. i gave mine 10 1/2 weeks of flowering but only used 10/14 in the last week or so.
ive read somewhere that using 10/14 from the 2nd week of flowering can cut 2 weeks off the thai flowering time, and still produce a nice harvest

still havent made my hash. i shall get round to it sooner or later though im sure. the ingredients are just sitting in the freezer at the moment...

here's a couple of pics of my current setup. no longer in a shower cubicle so the title of this thread is now quite irrelevant, maybe ill make a new one to charter my flowering period..
anyways, first pic is of my veg cupboard, and second is a close up of its inhabitants...

edit: the ones in the black pots are all lowryder#2's. the one in the round red pot is a white russian. i also have 3 skunk mix seeds from seedsman which have germed and awaiting soil poppage
