Excellent...your attention to all the details is inspiring. Damn, I hope you never run out of space for posting pictures...we need to see your work! I am addicted to this thread. Your membership does say you get unlimited picture posting..I hope they live up to it, or I guess we'll follow you somewhere else.
np Shrike,
the workaround was posting the pictures as an attachment
instead of a regular album picture, until i run out of attachments quota

as for the extra mister at the end, i always planned on installing one at the end
just didn't plug it in because of its spraying angle,
i didn't want to much water splashing when i was testing outside the tubes,
a safety mister if you want to give it a name
a back sweep for all the plants, it also seem to help pushing the water down
at last for now without roots in the way

Thank you Gypsy
I'm wondering if the mist inside the net pot is sufficient
I believe it is... but I have no basis to say that... as I have never built or operated a system like this before....

But my experience with DWC tells me that you do need that much water on the pot itself as long as there is some, and the media is absorbent enough to last between misting sessions...

Just my 2 cents...

Looks great!

Cut the bottom of the net pots if you think it interferes too much, if your going totally media-less aeroponic this will completely expose your roots. Just a suggestion.

I'm speechless that a 396gph pump sprays those that well, good work on the manifold setup.

so cutting the bottom of the net pot off would help nutes to go up the plant better?......seems like a good idea.....anyone try this yet?
my cloning is going well and my veg unit is doing extremely well also.....roots are going crazy and the plants are growing like crazy too
im not using the stinkbud nute regiment just yet since im still in the planning mode and had some nutes laying around

hey sog......do u think i can run a 3 post system into one of those tough type boxes?.....is it wide enough
and should i go with the 633 pump to run them?......thinking 3 5 foot posts with 8/9 units in each so 24/27 misters......rather go with more than push a 396

my area is 6.5 foot long and 3 foot wide......and i have access to change the res. with no problem......can use 5 foot posts and have the container and room to move still

you can fit 3 x 4 3/4" posts in the tough box
you need to figure roughly about 15-25gph per mister
to be in the proper operation range for a single mister
in my picture I'm pushing about 16.5gph per mister, and you can see the results
i think there's sufficient pressure from the 396GPH ECO to run up to 24-26 misters
beyond that you might want to go up to the 633GPH
that IMO is an over kill and will make a harsh mist inside the tube

I'm considering running 2 x 396GPH in parallel mode,
once i find a 0.5" one way valve ill be testing that setup
this way ill have a backup pump and possibly to increase the pressure
(i can still control pressure through the main valve if its to much)

i'd say! have you started on your cloner/vegger yet? will you be trying to modify that design as well?
unless something comes up as i build,
i haven't heard any issues, the original design is solid
most likely ill be using the Strong Box from Lowes to run the Cloner and Veg,
they stack perfectly (not the Home Depot version)
and are more suitable for this type of application
that's as far as I'm planing on change it

what changes to the veg unit using the lowes strong type box?
going to build one of those myself
the change is from the Roughneck 18 gallon to this to the Lowes "Strong Box"
they will work nicer when stacked on top of each other
they actually click into each other when stacked

I know you're sound conscious so have you considered sound proofing the cloner/vegger like you have the flower unit? (As in having the water spill down the sides rather than splash.)

On a different note have you considered radiant barrier? I know your grow is in the attic. The lower you keep your attic temps, the less energy you will waste in cooling. http://www.energyefficientsolutions.com/default.asp

I'm not seeing a way around dropping the water in a manner that will make it more quiet
i think ill have a better idea once i build one
they seem very simple in concept and implementation
have you noticed something you'd like to address with clone or veg units?

i am working on isolating (not insulating) the attic portion
where i am keeping my tents, ill have to run through the season
to see how things are going, these barriers looks good in case ill have to run insulation in the future, good looking out bro ;)

wow! that is such a tight setup. Looks pretty simple... but you did a great job of executing it.

I hope that I have enough space someday so that I can TRY to build something half that pulled-together.

Nice work! +rep

i heard of an interesting Tip today
flush plants with plain water and 5mm of maple syrup
this will make the buds dank up significantly
anyone else heard of this?

That's probably 5 ml, Sog? I've heard adding maple or mollassas is good when flushing. I know Stink had a mess when he tried using molassas. It clogged his sprayers. Maybe maple works better? Anyone else in the know...especially with the Stink system?
