i need to post shots of the kandy kush pandoras box hash i just did, 38/70/120 mix, cherry kotton kandy. love ya frenchy have a great day mate
 
Curious Frenchy, I am working with a bubblenow xl machine.......wondering if you or anyone else has experience running loose trim in there without the zipper bag....i am a little nervous that it may clog up the machine with leaf material. I really want to omit the zipper work bag.....because as you mentioned throughout the thread somewhere that it just balls up the trim in the bag and the trim is not able to move around the ice water freely to remove the trichomes. it has some side vents inside which i feel trim would fall into as it spun.....how i would clean the machine out entirely afterwards i don't know. I am a few months new at this and trying to dial in a better technique. I also feel foolish for buying this expensive machine when i find out now i could have gotten something smaller for much less. The thread has helped my knowledge of the process much better. Now just need to start putting it to work. Thanks for spreading your work and experiences!
 
I did not think so either......i read some troubleshooting on the bubblenow earlier, and I noticed it said be very careful to tie the zipper bag so that leaves do not get sucked into the pump....so i guess the answer is no.......i'll try taking a picture of the inside.....gooing to work with the zipper bag for now. Thnx for the input
 
I'm sure you'll be fine you may just need to do a few extra washes to get all the trichomes off your material
 
If there is a pump there is no way. The best in that case is to not put too much at a time to have as much space available as possible for the trims to float inside the bag, keep an eye on the bag during the wash that it does not bundle up as well.
 
ok thnx for the advice.....i'm thinking maybe 1/4 lb of trim per zipper bag.....and maybe 3 washes should do the trick......i think i overloaded it today....(did a whole lb) before checked back on the thread. Also it seemed like from what i pulled in the 73.....it was a little greener in appearance as usual,. This is the first time i've tried 160, 73, 45.......i usually have used all the bags ....not sure if that makes a difference or if i did not wash the 73 thouroughly enough

Wash VERY thoroughly your trichomes in the bags, it will help the clean up big time. You should also try with shorter wash to avoid chlorophyl

I was utterly amazed at how much washing the hash off in the bag made a difference! Not that I didn't believe just was uneducated and never tried it(pressing either). I was never too crazy on hash until I tried your meathod, I can't believe how clean it tastes. From here I can dial my skills in and hope to keep improving.

When you are working with a very simple method, every step is very important and makes the difference.
You will only improve, experience is important but the love and passion will give you that with time.
 
When using a work bag in a machine it is important that it not be overfilled (2/3ish) and also not sink to the bottom. The right "float" has to do with how much ice and water is used and whether or not a bit of air is caught in the work bag. This is ideal, think iceberg, a little barely braking the surface but mass is still fully suspended to tumble well. Also, try using two small 5 gallon machine work bags instead of the big dog 20 bags. If your iceberg sinks you get to experience the "insta-frozen-arm" of the 20 gallon machine as you grab it and pull it up to catch some air to float it up again! My skinny arm gets froze in an instant! No pain no big globs of IWE!
 
I had that yesterday......insta frozen arm, trying to pull the bag up.....obviously overfilled it trying to get through a quantity of material in less time....(bad idea).....however I have experimented with not over filling the bag in the past and am familiar with what you mean by a the right amount of air caught in the work bag to have it float....given the right ice/water ratio.....also will try the smaller bags sometime. Thnx for your input!
 
I cannot help at that level, I hardly used the 220 bag before going to a clothes bag with big holes and then no bag since I had so much green floating free in the water and cleaning was not an issue.
 
Chalice420 you can also try to do a gravity drain through the pump. As long as the screens in front of the pump stop the majority of the leaves, you may just be able to elevate the big machine and use the drain hose much like the small machines do. If that doesn't work I would just take it apart and remove the pump and make it a simpler device.

Note: I have zero experience with the pump out big machines. My koblenz is old, simple, gentle, and effective for big loads. I have taken apart multiple little machines, it ain't rocket science, just keep all the pieces organized and don't force plastic threads too hard.
 
Thank you Frenchy for showing us Nerds a simple way to make Hash using a cheap mini washing machine. The best 100 bucks I've spent in a while. All I needed to buy was some clear 3/4 inch plastic hose and I was ready(already had bags). Works great without a workbag. Just sandwich the trim between ice, add cold water, soak 10-15 minutes, set the timer for ten. Drain repeated 6 times with the last run being mixed with the 45 micron(used a 160 to catch the trim a 73 and a 45 to catch the goodies) Wow the end result is truly amazing. The hardest part is waiting for it to dry!
