War

I watched the launch (a week ago?) of SDA “Tranche 0”, the start of an independent constellation.

that's great, that means they can cut mucklink out of anything defense related at all, and quit paying the numb fuck for it.

, not 1 US soldier has died in Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials told the Military Times they were looking for foreign volunteers with combat experience who require little training before being armed and sent to the frontline. Officials said no volunteers would be allowed to bring their own weapons, and those fighting would at least be issued with rifles.

Griffin’s killing while fighting for Ukraine follows that of Willy Cancel, 22, in April. The following month Stephen Zabielski, 52, of Hernando, Florida, was also killed in the service of Ukraine.

Over the summer, Bryan Young and Luke Lucyszyn also died fighting Russia in Ukraine. And last week, the body of 24-year-old Joshua Jones was returned by Russia to Ukrainian custody.

It has also been confirmed that 23-year-old Skyler James Greggs from Washington state died in north-eastern Ukraine while with the International Legion.

These guys were American's with prior military service that volunteered to fight for Ukraine. They died wearing Ukrainian uniforms. US soldiers are not fighting in Ukraine.

I know. Didn't say they were American soldiers. But there are trained Americans fighting as soldiers in Ukraine. Just like there are trained Aussie's fighting as soldiers in Ukraine ,who die.

I didn't say that they were. Just pointing out that defence budgets are nice and handy but doesn't guarantee a win. Its for sure another proxy war though.
Yes the war crimes of dropping nuclear bombs on civilians- I'm sure its a proud moment.
Might be happening again soon with the way the worlds going- and might not be such a bad idea. I'm sure whichever country starts it the press release will read kinda the same as the one in 1945. Most will even believe it like they did back then in fact many still do many years later- but what choice do they have?
Vietnam and Afghanistan couldn't possible hold out the Americans and their allies resources either.. o wait.
The war in Afghanistan is not comparable in the slightest, totally different objective. Pretty sure all NATO countries understand the cost they are paying now to support Ukraine is far less than the cost if Russia wins and tries the same thing on a NATO member country.

Yep. But Ukraine isn't in NATO.. but my whole point is that just because there is more of a defence budget it doesn't guarantee a win. Or a quick win if a win is on the cards.

We are a year in on the latest stage of a war that's been going on for many, many years.

Do you actually believe that Ukraine will roll back Russia to its old borders before annexation this Spring?

They should make a pretty good dent in it by this fall. Ukraine has the best Army in Europe at this point and only getting stronger.
Not sure their army is comparable with France.

So that sounds like a no but hopeful for Ukraine to take back some ground.
So that brings us to next fall...

By next fall Ukraine will be getting f16's and more modern tanks, & by next spring it should all be over. Or maybe russia will somehow get NATO involved and then Ukraine/NATO will use f35's...Air supremacy over the battlefield is paramount.
Maybe. Don't forget Ukraine is not in NATO. But the wars been going since 2014. I don't see it ending anytime soon.

Never stated that Ukraine was in NATO, pointed out that NATO countries understand it will cost a whole lot more if Russia wins and decides to keep on rolling and eventually into a NATO member.

I wouldn't be surprised with any scenario in regards to Crimea this spring, nobody really knows where Putin stands with those that keep him in power. He may wage war for years or he may fall out a window, your guess is as good as mine.

If Ukraine falls, Poland is next and they know it, Germany too..

But either way i think we can all agree that the war there finishing this year is probably not on the cards. Lots of pro Russians in Ukraine as well. Lets not forget that there are Pro Russians who are Ukrainian. Zelenski was elected on the platform of better ties with Russia.
There's not even any meaningful peace talks going on is there?

If someone breaks into your house and moves into a bedroom and claims ownership, what type of negotiations would you be up for?....
