It looks like the Russian civil war has already begun in Ukraine...

Hitler said about the USSR, once they kicked in the door and the whole rotten thing will collapse. He might have been a few decades early in his prediction! It sure looks like the Russian army will collapse along with the Russian state, once the Ukrainians give them a good ass kicking this summer.

Vlad can't even get any help from Donald, because he is in shit up to his eyeballs and it looks like they will go down together at about the same time. After the fight the Ukrainians put up and the Russian atrocities, the republicans knew it would be suicide to oppose Joe backing them to the hilt. Trump and the magats bitched and whined but it didn't help with most of the republicans and was another wedge driven into the GOP dividing them.

Naw, he's an ex-convict to most Russians and particularly those in the government and military, if he tries it will mean civil war for sure. I think his sources of African funding are about to dry up as NATO members and America bring more focus to his African operations. He is gonna end up dead soon IMO, the army and FSB will want him gone and have the means to do him in. He is not part of the government power structure, not a member of the Duma, the senate, executive or military, he is an outsider.

The US has already pivoted away from Ukraine, that war is as good as won and if required Europe can handle the Russians now that their myth has been exploded and their military exposed as inept and weak. It is America's allies in the region that Xi has to worry about the most, and they will include Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, The Philippines and a host of other Pacific tiger economies who are all benefiting from manufacturing moving out of China and to them. Then there is India which is not a poor country anymore and they have problems with China too.

The fact of the matter is most of the world's advanced chips are made in Tiawan and it is years before we or others can build the fabs and train the technical staff to run them. Every industrialized country on the planet is dependent on Taiwan and has a vital national security interest in its security and to attack it will mean instant war with more countries than America, it would be like Ukraine on steroids, Uncle Sam would be far from alone in going to war with China over Tiawan.
I agree w/many of your points, but there is a window where we are at our weakest and that is NOW if your a Chinese strategest, they will NEVER have as many advantages as now,the US has woken up from a decade and a half of the War on Terrorism which we slept on peer competition, during this period China built a modern capable surface fleet and developed area denial strategy w/powerful ballistic "carrier killer" missiles, and have air to air missiles that are of major concern over their range advantage. The US has weaponry in the pipeline to counter these concerns but it is not yet deployed. Our surface fleet is long in the tooth as we lost our way developing LCS boats in place of frigates and the Zumwalt program also hurt in replacing the Aegis Tichonderoga cruisers, these mistakes are being rectified w/the constellation class frigate and the destroyer"X" programs, but time is needed which is why the Chinese have a window where we are at our most vulnerable. The US is a "Global Navy" and China cannot match that at this time, but this conflict would occur in their backyard giving them the advantage of all their land based airfields and mobile land based ballistic missile force to augment their navy.Unle Sam has to pack up and travel a LONG way to confront China in this scenario and supply lines and bases in the region are vulnerable which makes this a daunting challenge.I hope sanity prevails and conflict is prevented,it would be tragic for all involved, some peaceful solution over Taiwan HAS to be reached acceptable to all sides, the people of Taiwan who deserve self determination, the Chinese who have legit concern over a potentially hostile Island armed by the West so close geographically and strategically located, and the US that has spilled much blood and treasure in the Pacific region in the past.

Yep, hopefully they would dry run the shit out of tech like this first, and hope the Computer isn't just pretending to be dumb for long enough.
i doin't think we're quite at that point yet, but who knows how long it will be before we fuck up and make a sentient machine, who recognizes how fucking stupid we are, and how much better the earth would be without us fucking it up constantly...

Recent days have seen large-scale Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv. At the same time there have been increasing reports of attacks on Russian territory near Ukraine.
Hundreds of people have taken refuge in a sports arena in the Russian city of Belgorod. They're among thousands reported to have fled after increased shelling near the Ukrainian border. According to local officials, at least two people were killed by heavy artillery fire in the region on Friday.

If Prigozhyn didn't have the protection of Putin he would already be dead, or his finances would be cut off and he wouldn't be able to access a ruble to finance his operations. Looks like Vlad wants competing military power centers, military, FSB, Prigozhyn and the Chechens. Vlad will need to move troops out of Ukraine to protect Russia's southern borders and as the Ukrainians gain control of more border areas with Russia, Vlad will have even more to protect. I see the Russian insurgents have their faces uncovered and identify themselves, this will draw other Russians to their cause from among prisoners and even Russians who fled the country. Many people won't fight the government on their own, but they will join with a competent organization and military force that is fighting them. There is also a danger for Putin that those sent to fight these Russian rebels could join them in a revolution or coup. Who wants to die for the oligarchs in Russia and perhaps one day, the super-rich in the west? Another danger of extreme wealth inequality and resulting government corruption, they own everything, so let them fight for it.

One problem with over regulation of the RC and FPV hobbies is it stifles innovation, and another is it kills a domestic civilian drone industry and production. It also reduces the number of skilled pilots available and engineers who specialize in this field along with the companies they create. Make a drone pilot's license mean something and regulations that at least make sense. Anybody with a minimum of technical knowledge can order the parts online and make their own suicide drone and not worry about pilot's licenses or registration if they have murder or terrorism as their intention.

Drones do represent a danger to billionaires and elites though and can kill them inside their guarded estates from a long distance, miles if the operator is on a hilltop or has a clear line of sight to the drone. They have a lot longer reach than a .50 cal sniper rifle and a bigger impact on the target. A GPS guided drone can usually hit within a meter or two of its preprogrammed target. Once one or several of them take off, the operator situated 5 or 10 kilometers away, just drives away once they are airborne.

CNN’s Fred Pleitgen reports from a secret drone testing site where a Ukrainian company is building combat drones. The owner claims the drones are capable of reaching Moscow, which recently saw its first drone attack. Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling discusses. #CNN #News

I don't want airspace above my community to be unregulated.

Neither do I, but I would like to see sensible regulations and air parks where licensed pilots are allowed more freedom. Right now, the industry is being stifled by regulations that are unjust and unnecessary. Outside of their use in war, the hobby community has caused little injury and no deaths that I'm aware of, golf has probably killed more people. However, since the war in Ukraine everybody can apprehend the potential threat they pose, if used with malicious intent. We can see how an RC plane can be easily turned into a GPS guided cruise missile or and FPV drone used as suicide drone. The problem is anybody can order the components like brushless motors, ESCs, flight control computers and GPS receivers online for very little cost. These components are mostly produced in China though and we have little domestic production and that is a concern.

A cell phone can be weaponized too and used to set off a bomb by receiving a call or by using its GPS function to detonate a truck bomb at a specific location using a dupe for a driver. It is all technology that can be used for either good or bad purposes.
