Are you using a 20gal pot?? or 20 Inch pot?? I like to always use 1gal per foot of growth Inside, but outside i like to go bigger 10-30 gal pots.
check out these fabric aeration container, there are a few brands out there, but they all work the same. you cant get root rot,or root bound, and the pot will air prune your roots.

All my girls in flower are root bound pretty much, happens everytime. Working with 5 and 7 gallon pots. No biggie, just means more watering, and its getting good flushes between feedings:)

they should be ok in those pots, imo. the roots will grow down through a 5 gallon bucket in 2-4 days, but there just getting established.

Not worth it, it's around the time the roots just increased rapidly and it slows down. Besides that it's not a problem that the "roots are running round the base".

What you perhaps could do as an alternative is give them a top dressing.

Looks fine. It's just not something you can entirely prevent when growing in pots. The amount of root growth reduces drastically after the transition (I can easily see that in my mediumless system). Looks to me like you made good use of those pots. I'd be kind of disappointed if I didn't have that amount of roots in pots at that stage of the cycle.

I might.just cut the bottom of pot and place.in a bigger pot if become bound reduces yield loads its got to be worth that extra room

No, not necessarily. As long as their sufficient amount of roots to support the plant. And again, it won't continue to create new roots as fast as it has up till now.

But yes, that is an option nevertheless, you could cut off the bottom and place it in a larger one. But if you're going to do that you might as well go all the way and transplant.

Yes but the problem with a transplant is i cannot find pots with enough depth

Almost, but you get exactly the point. It will continue to 'grow' as in flower big fat buds. That's the thing, once transitioned it will stop growing (vegetating) and start flowering. It creates roots like it creates branches and stops doing so around the same time. It will continue to grow roots but just a little, nothing compared to what is has done so far. During veg the plant grows roots and stems and leaves, during flower it uses those to create flowers/buds. So like I said in my first reply, it's not worth it at this stage.

And again, even if you had a larger pot to begin with, the roots will continue to grow down till they reach the bottom. Comes with growing in pots, it's not something you can avoid entirely. Doesn't meant the plant is root bound though.
