Over 2 million signed up for Obamacare

The vast majority of current cannabis growers and dealers will be forced out of business by legalization. That's all I'm saying. A small number will make ends meet, a handful will thrive, but almost all of the profit to be made in weed will be in the hands of a few large corporate enterprises--presently non-existent--that will come to dominate the industry.

Again, the beer comparison is completely flawed. Beer is legal and there is no artificial supply constraint. Small players started and are starting with a "real" price of beer to base their operations around. The present price of marijuana reflects the existence of an artificial supply constraint that depresses investment in productive capacity. This leaves present producers to enjoy all of the excess profit. Without the artificial constraint, new productive capacity will suck the profit out of existing operations, and that is what will force them out of business.
Big tobacco is ready to step in as soon as it is federally legal. All the high end growers stuff will be Schwag compared to the stuff ADM, monsanto and Philip Morris will be turning out

I agree with you.

What is the true cost of a pack of cigarettes? Once you get rid of all the taxes it cannot be more than a few dollars. And tobacco leaf must be cured for about a year for it to be properly seasoned or some shit like that. You can turn around weed in 4-5 months from seed to finished product. Tobacco takes at least 3 times longer to process.

So lets guess really high and say $10 - $ 20 bucks for a premium ounce of dope... How big does your grow have to be to cover all your expenses and living costs per year at that income level???

Yep. Dope growers are going to be out of business unless it is a hobby. And RJR Reynolds Tobacco Company will be making funny green cigarettes faster than you can shake a stick. I am sure that factories are already starting up. As soon as enough big business happens in the legal states there will be well paid lobbiests trying to make it nationwide.

how long before you completely contradict yourself, like you did in the other thread when you emphatically stated that white people vote based on race, right after spending months telling me they don't?

you don't even grow, you really have no idea what you're talking about.

of course big business will come in, but legalization is nothing but good news for those who know what they're doing.

i doubt you've ever had dirt underneath your fingernails, save venereal diseases, so your analysis is completely meaningless.

the fact that NLXSK agrees with you is 100% incontrovertible proof that you are wrong, tokeprep.

sorry to say.

You probably think you will make more money when it is legal which is just laughable...
time will tell very shortly, since i am moving to where it is legal.

at least i won't have to "service" a dozen dudes every day for $20 a pop.

I didn't tell you that. I made a general statement and you suggested that Tennessee was an outlier. Looking at the data, I agreed with you than Tennessee was an outlier. The fact that Obama lost the white vote in every category in Tennessee's Democratic primary doesn't alter the fact that he won the white vote in other states. See the ten whitest states you keep trumpeting.

You're right, I know nothing about growing. But I do know about economics, finance, and business.

capital doesn't grow flowers, growers do.

instead of going to jail now, growers will have job opportunities.

we'll be fine. worry about yourself, devryUprep.

As long as they dont make it illegal to grow at home when they legalize it i could care less.
But unfortunatly they will try. The very first thing of course will be School Zone bans. Like you cannot grow within 2000 feet of a school which pretty much wipes out the ability to grow in the city any place. Then comes the "needed Security" meaning you have to have a minimum amount of security. Then comes the local licensing and of course, Inspection to make sure you meet fire safety standards. All for the sake of the children

Keep thinking that, Buck. I'm detached with nothing to gain or lose. My analysis isn't based on my hopes and dreams, it's based on the reality of what happens in competitive environments when artificial entry constraints are eliminated.

you think i have anything to gain or lose?

i could switch over to vegetables and alpaca fur tomorrow and still provide for myself just fine.

my upcoming move to CO has nothing to do with hopes or dreams, it has to do with being closer to family. i figure i may as well take a shot while i'm out there.

growers will now have job opportunities rather than prison sentences.

the future is good for growers.

Again, said every competitor in the face of far more capable competition. Our human minds lead us to believe these things even when they cannot possibly be objectively true.

I agree that the future is good in the short run, but in the short run only. In the long run, growers will be fucked by legalization. It will destroy almost all of them.

if more capable competition comes in, we'll work for them instead of getting sent to prison.

You wouldn't want to work for them, given the wages they'll pay you. They won't give you shit compared to what they make--it would be like working for Wal-Mart.

Are you being a chicken little?

In AZ some legislator just introduced a bill to make Marijuana legal for people 21 and over including the ability to grow a small amount of plants.

What is the law in Oregon currently?

And yes, I agree.. Security is for losers. Lets just grow pot next to the elementary school with no fence / sarcasm...

So if I don't get on some sort of plan I could be fined... They do that and I ain't paying shit, probably move to Canada.
There is about to be a influx of people sent to the FEMA Camps. I have seen it written somewhere that if you cant or dont pay your fine, your going to be placed in one.
