natural co2 emission???

so we all know that co2 does great things to our plants, i have ben searching around and have found never tried yet but have found there are multiple ways of creating natural co2. here are a couple of ways im thinking about.
has anyone ever tried this? im tring to stay away from the costs of a set-up. well see what happens. im going to start this tomorrow.

yeast/sugar/water in a 20 oz set by the stem.

vinager and baking soda in a container.

has anyone ever herd of co2 pucks before??:weed::weed::weed:

just heard something interesting. somebody told me that they stick soda water or carbonated water. honestly not sure which 1. but they stick it in a humidifier and apperently it works wonders. not sure though but sounds good. good luck.

your following me. lol. and funny you said that because someone used a rabbit in another post. hell if you got the wheel you might as well hook it up to a generator and maximize efficiency. lol. 50000000 hampsters outta power a 1000. lol

animal slave labor to power a grow...hmmmmmmmmmmm...just gotta keep PETA from finding out.

yah but the food to feed a large animal would cost to much. i guess you could just wear them out and replace with more stray cats. sorry threadstarter. but that humidifier is the only idea besides the yeast and a real setup that i know about.

thats cool. it was good humor.

ive also herd that misting seltzer water on every day also works. but it involves cleaning your plant every 4 applications.

the sad thing is i just need to make my mind up if i want to wait and save my money for the right set-up or be a frugal ass and always look for the cheap way out.
i did this on my lights also..........went all billy'ish and got the total wrong thing due to a DEAL. then i realized how interested in the science end of growing that i stepped up and got my 600watt HPS air cooled!
so maybe in a later thread i can talk of my upgrade on Co2.
untill then im going to start the yeast method Thursday and ill post some results if there are any!!

ok i was going to just settle with the 20 and yeast method which i will still implement thursday, but on the other hand i just ran in to this other thread on the same topic of an individual that has mass scientific education on this topic. its quite lengthy and can get boring at times, but read this because there isn't a angel that hasn't been covered. you will feel smarter coming out of it. i highly applaud the individual that took time to put his together............

i feel very confident because i use to be a chef at a higher end restaurant and had to make pizza dough daily from scratch. this is the basic step of starting the liquid side of dough/bread making. sugar activates the yeast as the yeast breath they emit the mixture that contains co2. i plan on putting a 20 oz bottle next to the stalk of the plant. to emit up out of a hose through the cap so gravity can pull it down the plant since the co2 is heavier than air.

i have nothing against c02 and its proven to add weight. but how much? i have never used it and have never seen a plant all that much bigger than i get. any little work and effort for this doesnt seem worth it. popping those 12 ounce things wont work. why would it? if he gets 2 grams extra per plant directly from those and they cost money was it worth it? If you are just using the info to have then good because its a waste of time unless you get it for free. dont bother. look at every plant youve ever seen and average them out. dont waste your time is my opinion. hope this helps.

watering plants with co2 (soda water) won't do anything, they 'breathe' it through the leaves in photoshynthesis. it is not absorbed through the roots.

what I do is have a milk jug that I fill with some sugar and about halfway with water then put 1/2 a yeast packet in it (you know, the single use packets). its a little co2 factory. emphasis on little. there is not a lot of co2 being made.

I poked a hole in the lid of the jug so I can cover it with my finger and shake it up. when you shake it it causes more reactions and actually a cloud of co2 will end up being compressed in the jug, so I let err rip over top of the plants (since co2 sinks in air).

Honest goodness can't say if it does jack shit but my plants are healthy and it certainly couldn't be hurting any.

ya isn;t the trick with CO2 to keep the levels up at a certain level? and way to mesure or regulate natural CO2? is it really worth it to do the yeast water sugar trick?

o ya and 1 packet of yeast is equal to 1 TABLEspoon of yeast for those who can't get packets

well thats why i didnt want to invest a whole lot due to the mixed reviews. untill i actually do the experiment i wont know. i do know just for the fact every thing i have found says to keep the PPM to around 1200-1500ppm. you would nee a meter for that tpo know what levels you are emitting. im sure it does something if done the right way. im sure the best method would be to go:
tank - regulater-timer-hose- mounted to release at the top of the plant. doingt this at night while air movement is off. and a tightly sealed room. im sure that is key.
but once again the setup is costly. the tank refill is hot. im going to try the cheap route andd if i see succession i will have a investment to look forward to trying at a later date.
to me its a hobby. trying new things and experimenting is half the fun.

i havent seen nything aboiut watering with soda water but i have seen humidifier method. but i would imagine this is similar to foliage feeding. but not worth it because you have to clean your plant alot.
